Question:	what are the size of the screws that hold the chair to the pedestal
Answer:	I just flipped mine over and checked, it says the max limit is 220 lbs. I'd guess this is the company covering themselves for liability purposes but use your best judgment. I've had people who I'd guess were around 300 lbs sitting on mine and had no issues. I'm around 200 lbs and I never hear the stools creek or feel them move at all. They seem pretty sturdy to me for their size.

Answer:	They do raise and lower, yes. One comment though...while my friends who I bought these for love them, and they are very fashionable, I found them to be a bit uncomfortable because the SEAT part is not long enough for people with long legs (or larger than we'd like behind). I like a seat that comes to the back of my knee when I sit, these do not. Hope this helps. :)
