Answer:	You can get Big Lots or Odd Lots cheapest twin mattress. It fits just fine. Just donot put an adult on the bed itself. It is better suited for children and teens.

I bought under bed storage boxes and put this in the trundle for extra storage vs having the 2nd twin.
