Answer:	We have board games in ours. The top shelf isn’t the strongest board so our lighter big games like monopoly are up there. The bottom shelf is much more stable and can handle all the really heavy games that have wood boxes. Ours is packed full of games and is still stable.

Answer:	It is adjustable. It has 5 peg holes. If you put the shelf all the way on the top hole and try to put your item on the bottom shelf, it may not fit. It is approximately 11.25". If you put the shelf all the way down to the bottom hole, it may fit because of the area behind the front faceplate. I think you could get it to fit on the top of the shelf.
