Answer:	I really don't think so. It's not thick enough to absorb liquid.

Answer:	I think it would unless the rocky path is terribly uneven as far as depth. We used it on carpet which heels could sink into as well, but we had no problems. It is thin but sturdy enough. Make sure your isle walkers are mindful of this and you should be fine.

Answer:	its closer to the end where you stand, I'd guess about 4-5' from the edge of the roll when you start rolling it out...
