Answer:	I have never understood it but sock sizes are different from shoe sizes. It has always been confusing to me and I have learned the hard way to scrutinize whether any store/manufacturer description is giving shoe size or sock size range. But as I recall the average sock size that fits most women's feet is 9-11 and that equates to women's shoe sizes 6-10 or something, it may very well be 4-10 I just don't remember noticing it went down that low for some reason I thought the lower end was closer to my 6.5-7 shoe size.
