Answer:	The space from the spout to the base, where you sit your cup, measures 9". My 8" 30 oz. Yeti like cup fits with room to spare. The spouts are not set very deep into the face of the machine so even if your container was taller than 9" you could tip it just a bit and fill it right up.

Answer:	As long as you can make them fit the cup diameter and have a taut top. All the complaints that I see about cups squirting out the straw only happen for us if the lid isn't stretched tight. It causes an air pocket in the cup that creates the squirting problem. If the lid is taut there is no air pocket to cause the geyser.
