2 best rubber recoil pads
Rubber recoil pads are popular gun accessories used to improve the shooting experience and reduce recoil when firing firearms. These pads are commonly attached to the buttstock of rifles, shotguns, and some handguns. Here are some key points about rubber recoil pads:
Recoil Reduction: Rubber recoil pads are primarily designed to absorb and dissipate the recoil energy generated when a firearm is discharged. This helps shooters maintain better control of their weapon and reduces the discomfort or potential injury caused by heavy recoil.
Material: These pads are typically made of durable rubber or other synthetic materials. The rubber's softness and flexibility make it an ideal choice for absorbing recoil shock.
Installation: Rubber recoil pads are usually attached to the buttstock of a firearm using screws or other fasteners. Some models may also feature adhesive backing for easy installation.
Fit and Size: It's essential to choose a recoil pad that fits the specific firearm model properly.Ill-fitting recoil pads may not provide the desired recoil reduction and can affect the firearm's balance.
Variety: Rubber recoil pads come in various designs, shapes, and sizes to cater to different firearms and shooting preferences. Some may have a solid, textured surface for a better grip on the shoulder, while others have a vented design to further reduce recoil.
Customization: Shooters often customize their firearms by adding recoil pads to achieve the desired length of pull (LOP) or to fine-tune the fit for better comfort and control.
Durability: Rubber recoil pads are known for their durability and resistance to the elements. They can withstand the rigors of outdoor shooting and exposure to various weather conditions.
Shooting Sports: Rubber recoil pads are commonly used by competitive shooters, hunters, and recreational shooters to improve accuracy and reduce fatigue during extended shooting sessions.
Maintenance: Maintenance for rubber recoil pads typically involves periodic cleaning and inspection to ensure they remain securely attached and in good condition. Replacement may be necessary if the pad becomes worn or damaged over time.
Legal Considerations: Depending on local firearms laws and regulations, there may be restrictions on the use of certain recoil pad types, especially in regions with stricter firearms legislation.
In summary, rubber recoil pads are important gun accessories used to reduce recoil, enhance shooting comfort, and improve firearm control. Choosing the right pad for your firearm and maintaining it properly can significantly contribute to a more enjoyable and safe shooting experience.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does anyone know if this fits an fixed A2 stock |
Answer: | I have a Targetmaster .22 bolt action. I think this pad would be quite large for your rifle. You'd be better off looking for a replica buttplate for that model. |
Question: | Will this fit on an sb tactical brace for a cz scorion evo |
Answer: | yes I had to sand it down at two points to get it to fit |
Question: | Does this fit an AR |
Answer: | It is not solid, there is a waffle pattern on the sides to absorb the recoil. you could drill and set your screws deep into the pad, but the better way to install this is to use some adhesive, depending on what your stock is made of. I ended up making a "plug" to go into my composite stock, and just used adhesive to attach this to the "plug" the "plug" has a screw on top and bottom to hold. |
Question: | Can this be attached to the stock which comes with a s&w m&p sport |
Answer: | The stock pad I purchased actually had two pre-drilled holes to screw the pad to the stock. If the pad referenced here - shown without any holes- is of the same material - a tough but pliable plastic - holes could be drilled in it and then attached to the stock with screws. Don't want to drill holes, some type of tough adhesive, not just glue, could possibly work. |
