14 best now foods fibre foods

Now Foods is a well-known brand that manufactures a wide range of dietary supplements and health products, including fiber supplements. Fiber is an essential component of a healthy diet and is known to have various health benefits. Here's what you should know about Now Foods fiber supplements:

  1. Dietary Fiber Sources: Now Foods offers a variety of dietary fiber supplements derived from different sources. These may include products containing soluble fiber, insoluble fiber, or a combination of both.Common sources of fiber in their products may include psyllium husk, oat bran, flaxseed, and others.

  2. Support for Digestive Health: Dietary fiber is known to promote digestive health by adding bulk to stool and helping to prevent constipation. Soluble fiber, in particular, can help with regular bowel movements.

  3. Cholesterol Management: Some fiber supplements, such as those containing psyllium husk, are known to have potential cholesterol-lowering benefits. They can help reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol levels when taken as part of a heart-healthy diet.

  4. Blood Sugar Control: Certain types of fiber, especially soluble fiber, can help stabilize blood sugar levels. This can be beneficial for individuals with diabetes or those at risk of developing diabetes.

  5. Weight Management: Fiber-rich foods and supplements can promote a feeling of fullness, which may aid in weight management by reducing overall calorie intake. They can be part of a balanced diet for those looking to control their weight.

  6. Gut Health: Fiber is a prebiotic, which means it can support the growth of beneficial gut bacteria. This can contribute to a healthier gut microbiome, potentially leading to various health benefits beyond digestion.

  7. Different Forms: Now Foods offers fiber supplements in various forms, including capsules, powders, and chewable tablets. The choice of form may depend on personal preferences and ease of consumption.

  8. Additional Nutrients: Some Now Foods fiber supplements may include additional nutrients or ingredients to enhance their nutritional profile. For example, they may contain essential fatty acids like flaxseed oil, vitamins, or minerals to support overall health.

  9. Quality and Safety: Now Foods is known for its commitment to quality and safety in the production of dietary supplements. They often adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure the purity and potency of their products.

It's essential to note that while fiber supplements can be a convenient way to increase daily fiber intake, they should not be used as a sole replacement for a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and other natural sources of fiber. It's recommended to consult with a healthcare professional before adding any new dietary supplement to your routine, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medications.

User questions & answers

Question: Is Acacia powder the only ingredient
Answer: No artificial flavorings or anything else for that matter. Just plain old gut scraping psyllium. It has a neutral/woody taste.
Question: Is this non-thickening
Answer: I find that mixing it with "cold" water (from the refrigerator, etc.) will give you more time until it jells which it will do sooner or later (this delays that reaction). Personally, I only want the roughage, so I do not try putting it in smoothies or using it in other concoctions (personal preference). Getting 30 grams of roughage or more a day (from all sources) for the benefits of colon health, etc. is important for me. I tend to drink it down immediately to avoid jelling. Here is the process I use: I use a large glass (8+ ounces). I fill the glass about a third full of cold water and vigorously mix in the dose of psyllium that you require (tablespoon or more). Then I immediately add more cold water while continuing to mix/stir vigorously until the glass of 8 +/- ounces of water is consistently mixed with the psyllium. I then immediatley drink it down. You can mix in more cold water as you drink it if needed to keep the solution more fluid. You can use "cold" fruit juices in place of the water which makes it a bit more palatable. FYI: There are warnings that psyllium can be dangerous if one aspirates or vomits after or during ingesting a glass of psyllium. If it comes up as a jell and might block the esophagus. Being careful not to overdo it so one might become nauseous may be something you should research. As an aside, it is rumored that if you drink psyllium soon after a sweets binge (like ice cream, etc.), the psyllium binds the fats in your system and your body eliminates these fats rather than depositing them in places that you might prefer they not end up.
Question: Is it gluten free
Answer: Yes, alot of gluten free bakers use psyllium husk as a binder in their recipes. Plus it reassures them that they are getting enough fiber in which alot of gluten free baked goods and gluten free foods lack. Hope this helps! Bye :)
Question: Is this the purest of its kind
Answer: There was only one I’m purchase

User questions & answers

Question: Does the pill have an odor
Answer: While a full container might have a slight odor the individual pills do not.
Question: Why is there no label shown listing all ingredients and amounts
Answer: The bottle I received has a Supplement Facts label listing all ingredients and amounts
Question: Does this item need to be refrigerated
Answer: No need to refrigerate. Store in a cool, dry place after opening.
Question: What is the difference between this product and metamucil fiber drink
Answer: I did not like a drink. I prefer taking a pill. I take this pill 3 times a day but I also take a chloral (green super food) pill with them. I feel I do not eat enough greens. Also, water is important, many do not drink enough water. Doing the fiber drink provides you take in more water, but the pill il easier to take when you travel. User questions & answers

Question: What is the prebiotic concentration/content? how many strains or cfu’s
Answer: I did say you have to leave it. I made mine with 1Tbl fiber and 8 oz of water this morning. I took it to work with me to drink with lunch, it look like tea by 11:30am. It doesn't take that long to dissolve maybe a half hour then stir, it isn't a pleasing color but I add Mio to mine or make it with juice or tea. It is gummy if you don't let it sit but it doesn't thicken.
Question: Does this contain any soy
Answer: The bottle says- "100% pure. Contains no sugar, salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, milk, egg, shellfish, or preservatives. Vegetarian/Vegan Product"
Question: How many Servings
Answer: Since it's organic I would assume so, or as pure as "organic" gets. It's a great non-bulky fiber in any case.
Question: I would not buy this product since it doesn't say what kind of fiber
Answer: According to the vendor, each tablespoon contains 6 grams soluble fiber and 1gram insoluble. Total of 7.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this whole or ground? There seems to be discrepancy between the description and the reviews
Answer: Its both, which confused me too. When it says "whole" means everything is ground into powder.
Question: What Country is this Psyllium Whole Husk originating from? Is it organic
Answer: I ordered this one by accident... -- I had looked at the 12 ounce ORGANIC item, and, thinking it would be better to get the larger 24 ounce size, I assumed it was organic, too. But, unfortunately, it was not. Also, I looked at the NowFoods.com website to see if they carry ORGANIC in the larger size. But, they do not. All of that to say,... "No. This one is NOT organic." Yikes !!

User questions & answers

Question: i’ve read there is blond psyllium and black psyllium. which one is this? thanks
Answer: It is not made with soy, wheat, gluten, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nuts. However, it is processed in a facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens. This info was taken from the label.
Question: Made in usa
Answer: a serving is 2 tablespoons; there are approx 28 servings per container.
Question: Any tricks for it not turn into applesauce? Can’t get a palatable consistency after quite a few tries in liquids
Answer: just read about this in a Sunday newspaper supplement magazine article on osteoporosis and it said this is a soluble corn fiber supplement that can help body build and retain calcium at any age, according to Purdue University. Just 10-20 grams per day translated to a 5-7 percent increase in bone calcium retention. In your gut, soluble corn fiber breaks down into fatty acids, which aid your bone health.
Question: What are the exact ingredients? Thank you
Answer: Yes

User questions & answers

Question: Directions are confusing. It says take max of 3 capsules DAILY, 30-40 mins before meal. So if I eat 3 meals a day, does that mean I take 9 DAILY
Answer: Non of the other Isomers of the linolic acids are within the tablet, onlt the CLA form of the fatty acid. If you would like a wide range of the other Fatty acids I would suggest the NOW brand SUPER OMEGA 3-6-9 for a full spectrum of the omega fatty acids.
Question: Has anyone tried opening the capsules and mixing with juice or water? Does it taste bad
Answer: According to research, Relora works by reducing levels of the stress hormone cortisol in the body. Reducing cortisol can have many beneficial effects, especially to the cardiovascular system. Too much cortisol also promotes fat storage, thus if you're suffering from excessive stress in your life (and many of us are), this can help relax you a bit (maybe even get more/better sleep) and stop packing on the extra pounds. Those who suffer stress-related weight gain may see benefits from using this. If you suffer weight gain due to things like too much insulin or estrogen (this can happen to men too!) then you may want to look elsewhere.
Question: My understanding is that Glucomannan is a dietary fiber. How many grams of fiber are in each capsule
Answer: Xanax has a high affinity for GABA-A receptors in the brain and modulates the receptor, directly producing anxiolytic effects; Relora is a proprietary blend that likely contains both Magnolol and its isomer Honokiol, both with affinity for GABA-A receptors and with modulating effects as well. The only problem is there are likely several subtype GABA-A receptors in the brain that work in different ways. Relora would, at best, be affecting different subtype receptors - therefore, it has been shown to have anxiolytic properties, but different than Xanax. To understand this better, Honokiol is very similar structurally to Propofol, yet the affects of the two are substantially different.
Question: are these capsules as in gel capsules or are they tablets
Answer: Yes - manufactured in Ada, MI

User questions & answers

Question: Does this product contain the "P-95" Nutraflora? thanks for your reply
Answer: It does not say anywhere on the bottle from where the powder originated. It only specifies that the powder was packaged in the USA.
Question: What is the source of the FOS
Answer: Barely mix it and drink it as fast as you can without stopping. Nothing but speed will prevent it from thickening in the glass.
Question: Is this product made from Inulin
Answer: Ingredients are only crushed plant & seeds of the plant PsyilliumnHusk. The plant is native to Indian subcontinent by the name Indian planygo.
Question: Is this FOS made in USA or China
Answer: Prebiotic fiber is a type of food that passes into the intestine to be fermented by probiotic microbes (such as Bifidobacteria) to generate short-chain fatty acids, which are an essential fuel for our gut cells. CFUs and strains apply to living cells/microbes, but not to fiber. This product does not contain microbial probiotics, only prebiotic fiber.

Question: There are two versions of this product, one "powder husks" and one "whole husks" Which is better to use? Thanks
Answer: The source of FOS for this product is not listed. Please contact NOW Foods directly for detailed product info.
Question: Does this product have sugar in it
Answer: It says it contains fructooligosaccharides, also called FOS. According to the wikipedia article on prebiotics, FOS is a short-chain prebiotic (2-8 links per saccharide molecule). Inulin is a longer-chain prebiotic (9-64 links per saccharide molecule). So, no, it is not made from inulin. If you are looking for a good pre-biotic, I would suggest Heather's Tummy Fibre. It is Acacia Senegal and contains about 85% prebiotic fiber, by weight.
Question: It says $(0.45)/oz and that is not correct. In fact it is $(0.60)/oz
Answer: The raw materials come from Canada. The final product is manufactured/packaged in the U.S.
Question: I wonder if it would be a good binder, like for black bean burgers

User questions & answers

Question: Is this flax seed finely ground
Answer: No, not at all. It is simply composed of the ground husks. The product is just fine, although, next time I will probably order the "organic" version. :-)
Question: Is this golden or brown flaxseed
Answer: Theodore, Thanks from the Healthzone Team for your question! There are multiple sellers for this item, so the price may vary. Please contact us if you need more information.
Question: if u use 1tsp of flax seed---would u also use 1tsp of the meal--bbbp
Answer: Sounds like a great idea, although I was never bright enough to think of doing something like your idea. I would be careful in amount added, or your burgers could get so dry they might not hold together. Psyllium flavor would, I think, complement the black bean taste. Just remember, start with small amount of psyllium to begin with. You can always add more in next batch, but can't take it out once it's there. Best of luck!
Question: Is it gluten free

User questions & answers

Question: How many servings per bottle
Answer: According to the Now organic foods web page, a serving size of flax meal is 2 1/12 tbsp and that has 4 grams of fiber, where the flax seed itself they suggest 2 tbsp as the serving size, and the fiber content is 5 grams for the 2 tbsp of the seed. To answer your question, I would use a little more of the meal, if you use 1tsp of seed, use 1 1/12 tsp of meal. I hope that answers your question.
Question: How much maltodextrin is in this product? Is it just trace amounts or like a true percentage? Thanks
Answer: yes it is..............
Question: is the maltodextrin (as a filler) a resistant form or non resistant
Answer: Depends on your purpose. I much prefer the whole husks for dietary aid. The powder makes a mush when in water whereas the whole husks becomes like a jelly which is what you want for helping intestinal regularity and a “clean go”.

We give to charities in a direct and efficient manner, and we actively seek charities that are 'self-enabling', or those charities that encourage their recipients and teach them the skills they need to take care of themselves going forward.
