11 best naturals cinnamon
Cinnamon is a popular spice derived from the bark of trees belonging to the Cinnamomum genus. It has been used for centuries for its aromatic flavor and potential health benefits. Here's what you should know about natural cinnamon:
Flavor and Culinary Uses: Cinnamon has a warm and sweet flavor with a slightly spicy undertone. It is a versatile spice used in both sweet and savory dishes, such as desserts, curries, stews, and beverages.
Types of Cinnamon: There are two primary types of cinnamon available:
Cassia Cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia): This is the most common type of cinnamon found in most grocery stores. It has a strong, spicy flavor and is commonly used in cooking and baking.
Ceylon Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum or "true cinnamon"): Ceylon cinnamon has a milder, sweeter taste and is often considered superior for its flavor. It is commonly used in gourmet cooking and for its potential health benefits.
Health Benefits: Cinnamon has been studied for its potential health-promoting properties, although more research is needed to confirm these effects. Some potential benefits include:
Antioxidant Properties: Cinnamon is rich in antioxidants, which may help protect cells from oxidative damage.
Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Some studies suggest that cinnamon may have anti-inflammatory properties, which could be beneficial for conditions related to inflammation.
Blood Sugar Control: Cinnamon may help improve insulin sensitivity and regulate blood sugar levels in people with diabetes or insulin resistance, although the results are mixed.
Heart Health: Cinnamon may contribute to heart health by potentially lowering blood pressure and reducing cholesterol levels, although more research is needed.
Cinnamon Supplements: Cinnamon is available in supplement form, such as cinnamon capsules or cinnamon extract. These supplements are often marketed for their potential health benefits. If considering cinnamon supplements, consult with a healthcare professional, as they can advise on appropriate dosages and potential interactions with other medications.
Cautions: While cinnamon is generally considered safe when used as a spice in culinary applications, consuming large amounts of cinnamon powder or cinnamon oil can be harmful. Cassia cinnamon, in particular, contains high levels of coumarin, which can be toxic in excessive amounts. Ceylon cinnamon is lower in coumarin and is a safer choice for regular consumption.
Allergies: Some individuals may be allergic to cinnamon, so it's essential to be cautious if you are trying it for the first time.
In summary, cinnamon is a flavorful spice that has the potential for various health benefits, primarily related to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. However, it's essential to use it in moderation and consult with a healthcare professional before using cinnamon supplements, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medications.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it irradiated |
Answer: | No MSG. It is 100% onion; granulated. |
Question: | How much coumarin does it have? I want to take 2 teaspoons a day and don’t want to get sick |
Answer: | No expiration date. Stays years (I'm really not kidding). I always bought my granulated onion and garlic at Costco; however, they don't carry the onion anymore. The last bottle I bought had to be 21 to 3 years old. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Seller: the image looks like cassia cinnamon sticks, not ceylon. can you verify that this product is ceylon cinnamon, and not cassia cinnamon |
Answer: | Bottle information, small print on the back, says Product of China. Kirkland granulated garlic is a product of California, USA, and it says so on the bottle label. I dumped, unopened, my bottle of McCormick granulated garlic after I got it because it was from China, and ordered the Kirkland.. |
Question: | I have had my cinnamon for about a week now. i was disappointed in the grind. it is grainy and does not mix into my coffee. what can i do |
Answer: | Hello...No, McCormick does not use irradiation on any of its consumer products. ~Tina |

Ceylon Cinnamon Powder
Cinnamon is an ancient spice that comes from the bark of several species of the Cinnamomum genus of evergreen trees, which belong to the laurel family. The most popular types of cinnamon are native to Sri Lanka and China, though cinnamon is grown throughout Asia, Europe, and North America.
In antiquity, cinnamon was prized as much for its sweet, sharp, and sensuous fragrance as it was for its taste. The ancient Egyptians used cinnamon along with myrrh to embalm the dead, and the Romans burned it on funeral pyres. It was used in religious ceremonies by the ancient Hebrews and is mentioned in the Bible as an ingredient in the preparation of a holy anointing oil.
During the Middle Ages in Europe, cinnamon was a status symbol ingredient in cuisine enjoyed by the elite, brought west from Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) by Arab traders. The Portuguese took over the cinnamon trade in Ceylon during the 15th century, and centuries of fighting over the spice ensued between them, the Ceylonese, and Dutch and British colonizers. In time, cultivation of the sought-after spice spread across the globe. Today, cinnamon is more likely to evoke feelings of comfort rather than bloodlust.
The cinnamon you have in your kitchen cabinet is most likely to be Cinnamomum cassia, which is native to China and the most common type sold in the United States and Canada. Cinnamomum verum, also known as true cinnamon or Ceylon cinnamon, comes primarily from Sri Lanka. It is more delicately flavored than cassia and more highly prized, though less widely used. Other commercially available types of cinnamon include Cinnamomum burmannii (also called Indonesian cinnamon) and Cinnamomum loureiroi (also known as Vietnamese cinnamon). Many lesser-known species of the cinnamon tree exist, too
Cinnamon's unique healing abilities come from three basic types of components in the essential oils found in its bark. These oils contain active components called cinnamaldehyde, cinnamyl acetate, and cinnamyl alcohol, plus a wide range of other volatile substances :
- Anti-Clotting Actions and Anti-Microbial Activity
- Cinnamon's Scent Boosts Brain Function and Boost Metabolism
- A Traditional Warming Remedy
- Improves Your Dental Health
- Cinnamon Enhances Your Skin Health
- Helps In Hair Growth

- CEYLON CINNAMON POWDER- This cinnamon powder is from Sri Lanka and is Cinnamomum Verum, also known as True Cinnamon; Most everyday cinnamon people consume and purchase is in fact Cinnamomum Cassia, which is also called Chinese cinnamon; While both are of the same genus, they have wildly different characteristics, tastes, and even chemical makeup; If you’ve never had it, True Cinnamon will change the way you cook!
- HEALTHIER CINNAMON- Real cinnamon has less coumarin, which has been linked to issues with the kidney; While Chinese Cinnamon can have upwards of 8% coumarin, authentic Ceylon Cinnamon has less than .04%, meaning hundreds of times less coumarin, making it safe for daily consumption; Ceylon cinnamon offers all of the wonderful health benefits you’ve heard about cinnamon, without any of the drawbacks of high coumarin levels
- REAL CINNAMON- Most cinnamon consumed in the United States is actually Cassia; When you try this cinnamon you will notice it is sweet, mellow, and totally unlike cinnamons of yore; It is commonly called Mexican Cinnamon since Mexico uses this kind almost exclusively, and it has a unique flavor profile that provides extra spice and sweetness while maintaining a mellow and agreeable overall taste; Real cinnamon is harder to harvest due to thinner bark, but is worth the extra effort, as your tasteb
- CERTIFIED 100% ORGANIC- This product has been certified organic by the Department of Agriculture; This is especially important in cinnamon as many producers use methods such as sulphur washes to cleanse the bark of impurities; Committing to non-GMO, non-chemically altered cinnamon is time consuming and costly, but we think it’s worth it; This cinnamon is tracked with lot numbers for each batch, and has been followed from grow site to our hand packaging in Cleveland, OH so you can rest assured it
- ✅LOVE IT OR YOUR MONEY BACK - If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase of our Ceylon Cinnamon Powder for any reason, just email us and we will issue 100% refund your order (in full), no questions asked!

Cinnamon makes everything taste better
Cinnamon is a fascinating spice which has been available for decades. Its popularity and usage keep on increasing as the great taste. It is sometimes considered to be part of the fall splice blends, along with pumpkin, nutmeg, and clove, but is magnitudes more popular than any of these other spices.
Grown in Sri Lanka
We discovered that Sri Lanka makes the most healthy and benefit packed cinnamon. Ceylon Cinnamon is called True Cinnamon for a good reason. After sampling different genus of cinnamon we created relationships with Ceylon growers from Sri Lanka. They adhere to 100% organic growing methods. Our growers do not use any GMO practices or sulfur washes on the cinnamon.
Packed in Cleveland, Ohio U.S.A.
Our secure chain of custody ensures that our cinnamon powder is stored and transported safely. From certified Origin growers to our own U.S.-based food-facility where we personally unload and inspect each bag before we pack your Cinnamon. Independent government agencies inspect the facility to ensure high standards are constantly upheld. We make sure everything is safe with as little contact as possible.
Only Ceylon Cinnamon is safe for daily consumption
We love cinnamon and think you deserve the best. That is why we sourced the only type of cinnamon you can consume daily. Ceylon Cinnamon has 250 times less coumarin than Cassia cinnamon in each serving. You can safely sprinkle cinnamon on your favorite foods through the day and not worry about your health. Answer: | yes, almonds; eggs, I don't think so. I am disappointed in the new bar-it used to be 7 grams of protein and 5 grams of sugar; the new box I ordered has 6 grams of protein and 6 grams of sugar. I can taste the extra sugar. |

Answer: | I doubt it because most Kashi fiber bars contain hard red wheat. Check the ingredients list for wheat. |
Question: | How many callories per serving are these |
