Answer:	October 2019: The price of an 18 bar box went up app. 33% within a couple weeks time. I paid $12.24 per box for 2 boxes last month, and a couple weeks later, I paid $12.24 per box for 4 boxes. Single (18 unit) boxes were $12.24 each. A few days ago, I visited the same Amazon site, and the price had increased to $16.64 I wrote a product review, complementing the product, but questioning the high increase in price. Amazon sent me an email, saying that my review was now posted. When I looked for it, the site shows a general 4star review (for this 18 unit box), with over 2,000 reviews. However, NO REVIEWS (including mine) ARE POSTED. Instead, it says "be the first to review this product". I am an appreciative and motivated Prime customer, and buy many things from Amazon. But this situation and lack of response or info from Amazon seems like a way to slip in a higher cost without taking responsibility or even an explanation to me. Since the product is made in Canada, not China, this is not related to the current tariff issues. Jeez Amazon, I would have appreciated a response instead of having to address the issue here. The price increase seemed very steep. And what gives with your not posting any of the 2,000+ reviews. Did mine cause you to "start over"?

They’re a bit small but packed with sweet taste and I store mine in the fridge so they’re chewy and last. I savor these-every single bite. I bought two boxes and have one left. Try them but don’t give them to the children.

Answer:	Wow, that's really misleading for sure! It would be a box of 5 bars though. At least it was when I bought them.

Answer:	As others have posted, Atkins (and many others) excludes carbs from sugar alcohol and fiber in their "net carb" count. However, this is misleading if you assume this means they do not contribute to calories. Data in the nutritional science world suggests that in general, each gram of soluble (not insoluble) fiber generates 2 Calories; while they do not affect blood sugar, this is still a source of calories. Gut bacteria creates short-chain fatty acids that can be used as an energy source). For comparison, each gram of fat generates 9 Calories, while each gram of protein and carbohydrate generates 4 Calories. You should additionally be aware that while sugar alcohols will also not have a significant effect on blood sugar, they do contain calories in varying amounts, depending on which one you're specifically consuming. For example, each gram of xylitol (usually found in sugar-free gum) generates almost 2.5 Calories.

Answer:	The bulk of the protein, as I discern the label, is from whey, but there is a smaller amount of soy lecithin, further down in the list of ingredients. If you do not want ANY soy, then don't use this product. (I am not convinced that soy protein is "garbage," but because of a history of breast cancer and autoimmune disease, my doctors have told me to stay away from soy products--even though they say it is fine for others of their patients. I use these bars only occasionally, and certainly not daily. They satisfy hunger, give me energy, and provide a small meal for me when I am on the run.

Question:	How are these Paleo if they contain pea protein and brown rice flour? Legumes and grains are not paleo
Answer:	Hi there, we use the vernacular "Paleo Friendly" rather than "Paleo" for this reason. While most grains and legumes are excluded from the Paleo diet, legumes from edible pods like peas and white rice (we do not use brown rice) are generally considered Paleo Friendly given they're vastly lower in phytates, lectins, and other concerning compounds that most grains and legumes are high in. Furthermore, our newest bars (releasing in March) will no longer have rice flour in them! With all of this said, we definitely do not claim to be 100% Paleo - we just aim to be ingredient-friendly to those following the Paleo diet.
Question:	The label shows 17g carbs and 9g fiber. This calculates to 8 net carbs, twice as many as advertised. Can you explain
Answer:	The specific net carb calculation (which you'll find on our bars and box) is Total Carbs (17g) - Fiber (9g) - Allulose (4g) = 4 Net Carbs.
Question:	are these closer to a Lara bar? or closer to a Probar or cliff bar
Answer:	I would say they are closer to a Lara bar in terms of flavor and consistency. Lara bars have a better flavor in my opinion. These tasted like dates without the other flavors Lara bars contain. Cliff bars are way harder than these. These are pretty soft.
Question:	How are the Net Carbs around 4g? I am seeing 8 and 9...definitely not
Answer:	Fiber is a carbohydrate, however it can't be broken down by our non-cow stomachs, therefore it's not digested. Thus, you have to deduct those from the total carb count to get a net carb. This goes for any food, not just these bars. Regarding the sweetener commented on by others: Allulose is also known as D-psicose. It is classified as a "rare sugar" because it is naturally present in only a few foods. Wheat, figs and raisins all contain it. Like glucose and fructose, allulose is a monosaccharide, or single sugar. In contrast, table sugar, also known as sucrose, is a disaccharide made of glucose and fructose joined together. In fact, allulose has the same chemical formula as fructose, but is arranged differently. This difference in structure prevents your body from processing allulose the way it processes fructose. Although 70–84% of the allulose you consume is absorbed into your blood from your digestive tract, it is eliminated in the urine without being used as fuel. Allulose also provides only 0.2–0.4 calories per gram, or about 1/10 the calories of table sugar. It is NOT a sugar alcohol. Although small amounts of this rare sugar are found in some foods, in recent years, manufacturers have used enzymes to convert fructose from corn and other plants into allulose, so while they may use some creative organic chemistry, this is a natural sugar that just doesn't get digested as calories or raise your blood sugar. The taste and texture have been described as identical to table sugar. It is about 70% as sweet as sugar, which is similar to the sweetness of erythritol, another popular sweetener. It not only does not raise blood sugar, some studies indicate it may actually improve insulin resistance (i.e., it's good for diabetics). I personally have used the product in baking in place of sugar. Hope that helps.
