Answer:	Because it's a fabric cleaner lol you can use the scotch guard protection sprays on shoes so why can't you clean your fabric shoes with the scotch guard fabric cleaner? Answer:	I have used it on 2 different beige dining chair covers...one in the main dining room, and one in the kitchenette. Held my breathe because wasn't sure how it would work...however, when it dried, it was perfect!! It is good stuff...I use if for everything!

Answer:	Ms. Handy: I've been using this product more than 10 years now, and I believe all you are looking at is a difference in labeling/description. The "cleaner and restorer" used to be the name for the original product and it was in a slightly different shaped spray bottle. I purchased the "cleaner, conditioner, and protector" here on Amazon and also through Sportsmans Guide through BoatSavings.com, and it is the same. While it is a great product, it cannot actually "restore" color fading due to sun bleaching of vinyl, so 3M's attorney's were probably encouraging the marketing guys to modify the name so as not to unintentionally mislead. Best product of it's type I have ever used, especially consisdering price and convenience of a one-shot application with a damp terry cloth wash rag.

Before I'd use it as a spray, I'd try it on a small spot; perhaps with a cue tip to test for discoloration . It didn't change the color of our carpet, but a mattress is a different type of fabric. It sure cleans spots on a carpet, though. Excellent product.

Answer:	The product removes greasy food stains well. Take a look at Wikipedia's article on Scotchguard, however; this is NOT a product that - even after its 2009 re-formulation - one would want next to ones body. There are an abundance of safer products that are both safe and effective at removing these stains. And most cost considerably less than this carpet cleaner.

So I was able to replace the brush to pulley belt and get my machine working again.

Question:	How long does it prevent mildew
Answer:	I used it on a tan convertible top in central Florida. A daily driver which was not garage kept, exposed to high heat and high humidity = great mold/moldew growing conditions. It lasted about 3 months or ao before I noticed that the top was mildewing again. I heartily recommend this product -nothing else would even come close to that kind of performance.
Question:	Would I use this product before or after applying waterproofing on the carpet of my triton
Answer:	I do not know. I use it to prevent mold on my pontoon seats when the pontoon was left outside all summer. The seats are made of vinyl. You could try it on carpet, but you better try it on a small area for awhile. It smells like bleach, so it might discolor carpet.
Question:	Once this is applied to boat vinyl can you apply a UV protectant over top of it
Answer:	This product worked very well for me. And I don't see why you couldn't apply a UV product over it. I wouldn't hesitate to do that.

Answer:	As other similar agents, one of the chief ingredients is bleach and bleach at these concentrations will kill mold. However, it is necessary to follow the directions and leave the product on long enough to do the killing. This has worked well on live mold on my pontoon.

Answer:	I don’t know what S fabric is, but if it says for upholstery I have used it to clean my sofa which is upholstered. Yes, it is a spray in liquid form. It works really great.

Answer:	Not 100% sure however it does not contain any harsh chemicals or phosphates. I have a very soft carpet that I use this on and it keeps my carpet looking white without making it stiff from cleaning it. I also have dogs and it does not have any affect on them whatsoever. I highly recommend this product!

Answer:	Having never used the Oxy Deep cleaner, I am not sure that my answer can help; however, I will tell you that the InstaClean Permanent Stain Remover is outstanding. I have used it on cotton, twill, polyester, nylon blends, and who knows what else with outstanding results. I trust it so much that I have a bottle downstairs and one upstairs. Since I have a new puppy, I find a need for it on my small rugs. I have hardwood floors so I do not need it for carpets. I have even cleaned his deep shag bed with perfect results. 1. Blot up any excess mess until your blotting cloth does not transfer any more liquid.

2. Use the stream setting on the spray nozzle, and thoroughly soak the stain to twice the size of the stained area, because the stain may have spread on the backing of your carpet.

3. If necessary, allow the formula one to two hours to work. Repeat as needed until the stain is gone.

4. Blot the area with a wet rag to rinse the treated area.

5. For vomit and feces stains, use paper towels to remove as much of the mess as possible without rubbing the stain in. Work from the outside in to minimize spreading the stain.

6. For stains that are old or just not coming out, be sure to heavily saturate the stain with formula. Use more than you think you should!

Answer:	I don't know why it wouldn't. I recently had my carpets cleaned and the cleaners wanted $50 a room (small bedrooms) to have each room scotch guarded. Since I've been a fan of Scotchguarding rugs and furniture I declined and bought a spray can of Scotchguard and did it myself. I saved a lot of money.

Answer:	I have 3 dogs & a cat. My cat uses his litter box but my dogs...they are another story. There are no pet stains or smell on either of my rugs that I treated. Infact when they pee on the rug it stays on top of the fabric for awhile & is easily blotted off. There are no stains or smell. We do check under the rug & wipe it clean if the pee goes through but no stain & no smell. Hope that helps.

Answer:	3M gen purpose adhesive cleaner might be a little overkill for tree sap I would use a good tar remover instead That being said I have used it to remove white road marker paint on my blue car. I works but you have to take your time and it all came off and I saw no damage to my paint. I was a lot of work but saved me a ton of money. I always have a can of this in my garage.

Answer:	I'm not familiar with "un do" but I've tired many brands over the years , even the new brands - nothing has come close to the 3M cleaner - has been effective in every situation I've need of a cleaner and a can seems to last forever.

Answer:	Yes it will. Use a cloth rag and keep it "wet". Be careful on the plastic, and, if the wood has a finish on it, test a spot that is out of sight. It may also discolor the wood slightly if there is some pigment in the adhesive.
