Answer:	I don’t see why you couldn’t use it on hard wood. It could scratch if you dig the corner of the pan into the floor, but then you wouldn’t be using the item properly, so unless you have a kid who would be throwing it around or sitting on it and scooting, your floors are safe.

Answer:	It will only pop and become instantly cold one time. You could throw them in the freezer and use them, but they are never instantly cold again.

Answer:	I haven’t used Ace brand to make a comparison but these are great. Lightweight, fit easily in an adult hand or a ziplock bag so they are portable and easy to hold in place, very cold and stays cold for a decent amount of time. Used one this past weekend working on motorcycle in a hot blacktop parking lot and was still pretty cold after 3 hours in hot sun.
