Answer:	I would use the white pad, which is the softest pad in the basic set. You could probably use the long bristled brush (available as an add-on), but that brush is more intended for scrubbing around faucets and such..

Answer:	I don't think it's worth buying. I returned it. It looks good & I also needed the extra length, but it squeaks, skips & leaves streaks. Even going over the same spot multiple times did not do a good job & it makes a very annoying noise.

Question:	how do you keep the handle from collapsing back down when extended
Answer:	We have a hook hanging from a soap basket in our shower. The squeegee has a good sized hole in the handle that will accommodate the largest of hooks. So yes, you do not need to use the suction cup - as it is a separate piece. We still are very impressed with the quality of this product since we can even throw a small towel over it and reach the ceiling to remove the moisture that collects above the shower.
