When I ordered them, feedback seemed to imply that Amazon was shipping random sized sponges for this listing, since feedback listed more than one size. Hope that helps.

I keep mine away from water when it's not in use so it can air dry. Also when I'm done with washing my dishes I squeeze all the extra detergent and water from it. I've been using them for a year and mine never smelled. I don't know if it is the procedure I do or is it just the way the sponge is. Either way, I hope my answer helps you. If you are already doing everything I said maybe you can send a message to the seller.

Answer:	No, they are not all that rough. But also wear out really fast. I bought them for my AirBnB because they were very inexpensive and so I can put a fresh sponge in each time I have a new guest. Question:	what is the length of the sponge AND thickness
Answer:	5 inches in length and 0.6 inches thick. It is a normal sponge that you would buy to wash dishes, but for some reason they have disappeared from the stores.
