Answer:	The corners are rounded. That being said, I still took the edge of mine to a diamond sharpening plate to help smooth the ENTIRE edge from any slight sharp spots. A block with sandpaper would work too. I’m with you on not wanting to scratch my countertops and it has not put any scratches in mine. (Quartz).

Answer:	The connection is metal, then a bushing that seems to be made of neoprene or a similar substance. Next is a stainless washer and then the plastic. I use mine pretty much daily and this is the best and most durable blender I have found. I hope this helps.

Answer:	The manual says it is 27,000 RPM. There are two speeds and pulse function. I usually use 2nd speed for fruit smoothes, and pulse for ice crushing. This is a very powerful machine with reasonable price. I'm very happy with it.
