Answer:	No. There is a 4.5" sturdy foam base with a 1.5" memory foam top. It's only on the one side. So it is only the one side that has the memory foam top portion. I haven't got mine yet, it arrives tomorrow but i looked on the milliard website. It shows it in the photo on here that it is only on one side but i was curious when i seen your question and decided to make extra sure before i responded to your comment.

Question:	For those that have purchased this... how did a newborn sleep on this
Answer:	Upon reading the description again, I don't think there is an infant side and a toddler side. They just say that because they covered the whole mattress in plastic you can use it for both infant and toddler stages. They just say to flip it so the mattress is refresh. We just received ours and we're pretty sure there isn't any difference in firmness between the two sides. Definitely no markings.

Answer:	I wouldn't say chemical, it smells kind of like new industrial plastic which is basically what the mattress is wrapped in.

Answer:	It isn't a waterproof cover. The material the mattress is enclosed in is waterproof and does not come off. It is a part of the matttess and cleans as easy as wiping witha wet cloth. My kid had a poop party in her crib and there was feces everywhere. The mattress was much easier to clean than the kid, crib, wall, carpet, and hair. I just took some lysol wipes and wiped it down and that was done.

You go in to feed him, and find that he's peed/pooped/spit up/vomited in the bed. Scenario 1: If you've made the bed the normal way, you spend an extra 10-15 minutes taking off sheets, cleaning the mattress, and re-making the bed (hoping you have another clean sheet!) IN ADDITION to taking care of your precious little bundle of joy's needs. The baby and you are now FULLY AWAKE. Good luck to you. Scenario 2: You've DOUBLE made the bed with this pad, a fitted sheet, another one of these pads, and another fitted sheet. You find the mess in the bed and take care of your little one, then simply pull off the fitted sheet and top pad, revealing the clean setup underneath. Put the baby back to bed, throw the mess in the laundry room to soak or to deal with tomorrow, and go back to bed.
