Answer:	This Heating Pad is washable! Care and Maintenance Instructions: 1. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet. 2. Make sure the Pad Connector is disconnected from the Control Connector by pressing the tabs on the sides of the Control Connector while pulling the connectors apart. 3. Machine or hand wash the Pad using a mild detergent, cool water or warm water, the water temperature cannot be exceeding than 86°F, and a gentle/delicate cycle. 4. Line dry or lay the Pad flat to dry. 5. Make sure the product is completely dry before the next use. 6. Answer:	EVERY heating pad should say that in the instructions. Of course, many people do it any way but it raises the risk of you getting burned. You're trapping the heat against yourself as well as whatever surface the pad is on- bed, chair, etc. I have used a heating pad on my back for many years now, usually leaning against it and have been fine. However, I know other people who have been burned by theirs- my mother, who was receiving chemo, got a large burn on her back. Be smart about it- check the area often and allow it to cool off completely periodically if you need to lay/sit on it.
Question:	What temperatures do the three seatings heat the pad up to
Answer:	It looks like most of the other answers from 2017 and earlier showed their pads got hot, around 140 degrees, and all the answers from 2020 say the pad barely got warm. I just tried it out today and was disappointed that it wasn't getting hot. So I used my infrared digital thermometer (doesn't everyone have one due to COVID-19?) to check the temp, and the highest temp setting was only 104. Plan to return. The only thing this pad has to do is provide heat, and it doesn't.

Answer:	I use the soft side when I am wrapping the pad. However, when I'm laying on it, such as my back, I'm using the side with the print. I've used only the pad as dry heat. When I do use as moist heat, it is my plan to use the softer fabric side. Hope this is helpful.

Answer:	Heating pad smelled like dead fish...After further inspection, I realized the smell was coming from the small storage bag that comes with it. The one with the draw strings? I washed the heating pad itself with detergent in a bucket and the smell came off right away. Its actually really easy to clean the heating pad itself. The bag tho...had to wash twice and still smells like fish. Probably will end up throwing away the small bag and the box it came with. PEEYEEEW.

Answer:	The label says 50W, and I measured 47-49W which is just right for label 50W. In actual use, it can use anywhere between 0 and the maximum 50W. It depends on the temperature setting (low/med/high) and how the pad is insulated. For example, I placed the pad between my back and leather chair, and set control to medium. After 3 hours, the pad consumed 0.035 kWh, which means average power is 12 Watts.
Question:	I would like to use this to make yogurt. Does anyone know what temperature it reaches
Answer:	My "high" temp is 120. The medium and low on my pad were too low... in the 80s and 90s. I put the yogurt jars inside a thick bottom pot with a wire rack and lid. Placed it on the heating pad. Wrapped a towel around the pot and temp stayed at 105 inside the jars. Worked perfect!
Question:	It is imperative that it is guaranteed NOT to have auto shut off for wildlife rehab
Answer:	I don't know if it is guaranteed but I have had mine for several months and my unit does not automatically shut off. As long as the switch is on, it is heating.

Answer:	The reason is for SAFTY. Some people may get skin burns by laying on top of a steady heat source like a heating pad ("slow cooking"), which can get HOTTER over time if laid upon. Their usual (Buyer Beware) claim for "safety" is an "auto-shut off" which cuts in at about 2 hours. Some folks can get COOKED from 2 hours of time laying on an electric heating pad, and the pain is SEVERE! Electric heating pads should REALLY have MUCH shorter shut-off times, especially for immobile, elder, chronically ill, etc. people. MUCH SAFER TO LAY ON A HEAT THERAPY SOURCE THAT SLOWLY GETS COOLER, like hot water bottles, and the clay thermal pads. They are as hot as they're going to get right up front, with far more SAFETY than electric pads. Physical Therapy Professionals usually limit heat treatments to 20 minutes, for good reasons, proven by decades of Professional Medical Experience. BTW, yes, I do use electric pads, but ONLY UNDER THEM...NOT ON TOP! Answer:	Yes!!! What do you want to do? Scald yourself? It gets plenty warm on 6, and perfect for animal heating with covers on 3-4. Forget the meat thermometer answer! It will get hot enough to burn you if you’re not alert and you choose to set it manually and not auto-shut-off. It happened to me, though it just hurt for a couple days without a wound. So, that’s enough! I use it to warm myself up in the evening and keep the heat at 65 degrees throughout winter to save money. Why heat the entire house? I just hope it still has this function as it’s needed to keep my elderly cat warm throughout the night. I set it at either 3-4 depending on the blankets I use over it. 6 is too hot for her, even though cats and dogs have normal temps at approximately 4 degrees higher than humans... that’s why they feel so great in our laps! This is a MUST for heating pads for animal care use. Remember though, to always allow the animal a way to get away from the heat if needed - use on only half the cage (if caged) but allow burrowing ability on the non- heated side too. It’s a shame that other companies don’t offer this... as heating pads are used in many ways. A 2 hour shut off is great for preventing burns to elderly, non-aware or forgetful humans, but useless for any other need! When the pad failed, after Amazon return period, they provided a new set, shipped quickly and didn’t require a return. The pad is used at least 5 days a week for hours and has functioned perfectly ever since replacement- over a year ago. Great, responsive company... no hassle.

The pull-out and stretchy straps attached 1 on either side of the heating pad have hook and loop closure patches and give about another 22" which is a total of 38 working length by the time patches are lapped over to hold the pad in place. There is also another stretchy strap that attaches by hook and loop patch to those straps, as a sort of splice or extension between them which is approximately 17" long and that can give about 5 inches more when stretched all the way out so you have about 60 inches total. That extension strap is adjustable to work if you just need a few more inches, or the maximum capable of approximately 60 inches or 5 feet, at least on the one I have.
