The oregano for this product is ecologically harvested, which means that it is either grown in the wild or grown in managed woodland areas, away from sources of contamination and without overharvesting. Answer:	The 10:1 ratio means that the oregano is concentrated 10 times the strength of oregano. I haven't bitten open a capsule to test it but I think it probably would burn, which is why we have it in the soft gels. We haven't had any complaints that the oregano oil burns in the stomach once the gel cap dissolves.

Question:	What is the difference between this and oregano essential oil
Answer:	I use a needle and apply to skin. They arenot purple, the are a gold oil. Burns at first but then numbs. Try a tiny bit or mix with oil ,cream or ointment. One capsule can be used for multiple applications. Beware of the burn!
Question:	how much in mg of carvacrol does each capsule deliver? in MG please
Answer:	The bottle says "min. 55% Carvacrol" on the front. The back label says "Oregano Oil 0.2ml /181.0 mg'. It also contains fennel oil and ginger oil. The other brand that I have has 150mg of Oil of Oregano extracts, and no fennel or ginger oils. Hope this helps.
Question:	Is it easy to puncture these to apply topically to the skin? Has anyone tried this? Someone mentioned they were purple and was wondering if that would stain- thanks
Answer:	Gaia Herbs Oil of Oregano is a supercritical extract of oregano, which is different from a steam distilled essential oil, so there will be a difference in smell compared to the essential oil. Supercritical extracts are made using carbon dioxide and pressure, and contain the essential oils from the plant along with other oil soluble constituents from the plant, which will add a variation to the smell. The extract will also be much darker than a light colored essential oil because of this.

Answer:	One softgel is 181.0 mg oregano oil (Origanum vulgare) with a claimed minimum of 55% Carvacrol. That would calculate to +/- 99.55 mg Carvacrol.

Question:	Can you add this to your base oil when oil pulling
Answer:	It is edible-- you just have to make sure you dilute it properly and/or follow a practitioner's instructions. On the Amazon page they state this as their reason for saying it is not for internal use: The Leading Aromatherapy Associations (Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA), International Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine Association, Aromatherapy Trade Council, and others) all state that essential oils should not be taken internally (regardless of purity or organic origin) unless under the guidance of a health care practitioner trained at an appropriate level . As such, all of our oils carry a label warning that the product is NOT FOR INTERNAL USE.
Question:	What are the exact ingredients? Pure 100% oregano oil only or am I paying for olive oil? Also, what is the carvacrol percentage
Answer:	After 20+ years of toenail infection that I picked-up from locker room showers in school and spending the past 2 years trying to finally be rid of it, I could fill a book with what I've learned. It wasn't until I understood that it must be killed from the inside as much as the outside that I saw results. The fungus feeds on sugar-- had to ELIMINATE it from my diet then add oregano & olive oil extract into it. On the outside: soaking in buckets of tea tree oil solutions, vinegar solutions, etc... Coating nails with oregano & tea tree & manuka oils 4x/day...using a motorized pedicure set to keep the nail surfaces open...tea tree soap & stiff brush on nails during every shower, wear sandals at home all year so nails get air (Chacos are awesome!), toe socks & wider boots at work-- these are some of the approaches that worked. Details are easily found with a web search. Most important is the dicipline to do it EVERY day. It was months before I saw any results and it's taken 2 years to achieve 90% clear nails-- but I had it bad on all 10 toes. Most cases aren't so widespread and will clear up in a few months. But I didn't see the real results until I eliminated sugar and started taking oregano extract to kill the bacteria in my system. Be patient. Don't get discouraged. Do some research before you start.
