Answer:	You can just use water, if you want to use it as a humidifier. This does not include the essential oils; you will have to buy those seperatly. It is worth buying the oils though.

Answer:	I think some people are getting confused as to the functions. Pushing once to green is intermittent mode. It diffuses 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off and runs for up to 6 hours. However, mine is still running after 8 hours. It auto shuts off when water is almost gone. Push twice to red or continuous mode and it runs continually for 3 hours then auto shuts off. I started mine at 1am in green intermittent mode and it’s 8:45 and still running. But no complaints here!

Answer:	You can turn off the color lights. But the function light especially the green is very bright if you are sensitive to light when you sleep this will be bothersum. I used black electrical tape to round the bottom of the lid to block out most the green light. It will do rather than returning to buy a more expensive item.

Answer:	Yes, the smell would fill a baby's room unless it was a really big room. I use mine in the bedroom, about 15 x 20 ft and it makes the whole room smell but also do put about 10 drops of oil in it. You can put less or more oil in for more or less scent. It makes a wonderful night light by setting the light on red and the dim setting.

Answer:	I place mine on the edge of a night stand, and it does not get anything wet. The motor pushes the mist out far enough where I do not experience this issue, unlike other diffusers that push mist lightly out from the middle. You supposed you could still place something underneath just to be safe if it's not placed on the edge of a table, but I've never had an issue with it leaving puddles or getting anything wet.

Answer:	The main light can turn off, but there is an "On" light that is too bright for sleeping. Because the unit is white, that little "on" light illuminates the entire unit in the dark. I haven't tried using any kind of electrical tape to cover the light under the unit's cover & see if that helps, though.

Answer:	The instructions say tap water is fine and that is what I use. I will add that I have a water conditioner, so my water is quite soft.

Answer:	Technically, you can use it without the full, bright illumination. But the "on" indicator light glows green, and is brighter than I like to have in my bedroom. Imagine an alarm clock with bright neon green numbers; it's similar to that. If you find it's disruptive, one tip is to choose the non-pulsing red light. Darkness is best for sleep, but red light has been shown to be less disruptive than those on the "blue" end of the spectrum. Sleep well!
