Answer:	Thanks for this good question. Our sauces are not like other marinaras. We take great care to select pure and fresh ingredients and many of them are expensive. Our thick Meatless Bolognese contains significant amounts of cauliflower, fresh carrots, fresh onions, fresh garlic, fresh mushrooms, sulfite-free suns dried tomatoes, walnuts, vegan wine and the finest California tomatoes we could find. Our Velvet Vodka sauce uses a very special ripe tomato that is naturally sweet but also very expensive. And our unsweetened coconut milk is the purest and richest-tasting we could find after testing nearly a dozen different brands. We decided from the beginning to put quality and purity of product before price. And unlike other sauces, we never add water to dilute and stretch our sauce or sugar to cheaply sweeten it. We salt very lightly and instead use a combination of nine different spices and herbs to give our sauces their unique flavors. Also since we are a small, artisanal, family company, we are still making our sauces in small batches, which allows us to have total quality control but also means we can’t purchase truck loads of ingredients, at a lesser cost.
