14 best pitted olives
Pitted olives refer to olives from which the pits or stones have been removed, making them more convenient for consumption and culinary use. Olives are the fruit of the olive tree and are a staple in Mediterranean cuisine. Pitting olives involves extracting the pit, leaving a cavity in the center of the fruit.
Here are some key points about pitted olives:
Types of Olives: Pitted olives can be made from various olive varieties, each with its own flavor profile. Common varieties include Kalamata, Manzanilla, and Castelvetrano.
Culinary Use: Pitted olives are popular in salads, pasta dishes, pizzas, and various Mediterranean recipes. Their removal of pits makes them easier to incorporate into dishes without the need for diners to navigate around the seeds.
Packaging: Pitted olives are available in various packaging options, including jars, cans, and vacuum-sealed bags. The packaging method often depends on the type of olive and the preservation process used.
Flavor Variations: The removal of the pit can affect the texture and flavor of the olives. Pitted olives may be brine-cured, water-cured, or oil-cured, each method contributing to the final taste.
Health Benefits: Olives, including pitted ones, are known for their health benefits. They are a good source of monounsaturated fats, vitamin E, and antioxidants. The consumption of olives is associated with potential cardiovascular and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Storage: Like other olives, pitted olives should be stored in a cool, dry place.Once opened, they are typically kept in the refrigerator and consumed within a specified timeframe for optimal quality.
When incorporating pitted olives into your dishes, consider the flavor profile of the olive variety and whether it complements the other ingredients in your recipe. Additionally, be aware of the salt content if the olives are brine-cured, as this can affect the overall sodium content of your dish.

User questions & answers
Question: | What type of plastic is the container (the resin code number |
Answer: | The simple answer is yes. Roland Cookie Butter has no animal or animal by-products listed in its ingredients. However, it does contain lactic acid which is vegan, as it primarily occurs during the natural fermentation process of plants or is man-made using plants. Lactic acid is also found in fermented dairy and meats, but there is no way to tell where Roland's lactic acid was sourced. I have found lactic acid present in many vegan foods so I doubt if it should be of concern. I mentioned it because some people might mistakenly associate it with Lactose found in dairy products. |
Question: | How long do the olives keep in the fridge |
Answer: | No it doesn't. Amazon listed the ingredients. Just look there. |
Question: | After I break the seal, do I have to refrigerate the olives (takes up a lot of fridge space |
Answer: | It IS gluten and dairy free |
Question: | I am not a young person so my question may be obvious to some of you but I can't get into the container, help please |
Answer: | A description of this product-- I'd guess mayonaise with pickle relish in it. It used to be carried in all grocery stores. I use it to make egg salad and tuna salad. I was very happy to find it on line when the stores discontinued carrying it. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How Many In One Serving |
Answer: | 270 mg per serving. 1 TSP . This is excellent with Turkey sandwiches, but use very sparingly as it is quite spicy |
Question: | would these be good in a martini |
Answer: | This is soicy, according to my husband who really likes spicy. We don't remember for sure, but we don't remember "spicy" on the label. |
Question: | do these have an expiration dated and if so, how long are they good for |
Answer: | I'm not sure that it expires. The flavour might not be as "fresh" after a month or two, but it still tastes good... |
Question: | What are the dimensions of each packet |
Answer: | I have not tasted Biscoff’s but I bought Roland's to compare with the brand Speculoos since Roland's is less costly. To me, there is no comparison and in this case you get what you pay for. I feel the Speculoos is much better than Roland's in flavor, creaminess and overall texture/consistency with the tiny pieces of Speculoos cookies mixed into both brands. The Speculoos comes in smooth, crunchy and cocoa swirl and all 3 types are stocked at my local Trader Joe's for a much lower price than buying these products online. But I send the Speculoos products as gifts and it's well worth buying online with free delivery! |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the expiration date on olives |
Answer: | Don't know about subway sandwiches but the spread is tangy and goes with well italian dressing that we put on our subs we make at home. It's delicious. I also put it in meatballs . HTH |
Question: | Is it normal to have many mushy olives in this order |
Answer: | There are orders for different quantities. I ordered the 6 pack because we LOVE this spread. It’s fantastic in tuna salad too. And of course, on any sandwich. Great stuff! |
Question: | Why are these olives so salty |
Answer: | https://wicklespickles.com/product/spicy-red-sandwich-spread/ |
Question: | Does the bucket of olives have to be refrigerated once opened |
Answer: | I'm a fan of all the Wickle products. The Spicy Red Spread is great on eggs but never tried it on deviled eggs. My only concern would be the amount used could make the yolks to loose or runny but still tasty! |

User questions & answers
Question: | what is the sodium content for 1 serving |
Answer: | I don't know how long they'll last but I've had mine for 4 months and they are still good. They are brined in water, salt, vinegar, red wine and olive oil. I think that they would be able to last quite a while in the fridge. |
Question: | Is this gluten free |
Answer: | Mediterranean peoples have been eating unrefrigerated, brined olives for literally thousands of years. After we open a container that olives are shipped in, we divide the olives into glass jars, being sure that each is covered with brine. If there's not quite enough brine with the product, we make our own brine easily by combining water and salt (preferably sea salt to prevent cloudiness). You can adjust the saltiness by rinsing the olives. We top off each jar with a thin layer of olive oil. We store the jars in our basement canning room where the temperature is a steady 55 F year-round. Sometimes we flavor different jars with different herbs or spices. One we especially like is our herbes de provence recipe. We've picked and processed our own olives, so it's fun to experiment with flavors. You can find suggestions on the Internet or in cookbooks. We never add garlic to a jar until a couple of days before the olives in that jar will be consumed, just to be scrupulous about safety. Frankly, they get eaten so quickly that long-term storage is not an issue. |
Question: | Is this product gluten free |
Answer: | Robin - It is a bit tricky to figure out. You just unscrew the top part that has the little handle across it and set that aside. Then you have to get your nail or knife or something under the edge of the lip and pull it up. It has some suction to it so you may have to work it loose. But the olives are excellent - just eaten or in salads or pasta dishes. I hope this helps. |
Question: | Are these vegan |
Answer: | Yes, this item is gluten free. Take a look at the labels closely on Amazon and you'll see. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are the olives large |
Answer: | I’ve been buying these for years. I also give as Christmas presents. Never had any that I would call mushy. Now they are not as firm because they are pitted which can be expected. Love these olives and what a super price they are. |
Question: | I looked on amazon for those belle sole castelvetrano 35.3. and couldn't find it I want to buy any one help |
Answer: | Salty as Hecke. But take out what you need for the week and put in mason jar and replace the water 4-10 times , to taste and then add olive oil, garlic, wht wine vinegar and spices of your choice. I received mine the day I read this tip on The Sons and Daughters of Italy Facebook page. So that most likely reliable as it gets. |
Question: | Are theses salty or buttery |
Answer: | No it doesn't have to be refrigerated. It comes with a tight fitting lid and seal, and a gizmo inside to keep the olives under the brine, which is so salty I would double dare any germs to try to live in that! I've kept mine on the counter for several months and it is just fine. |
Question: | How long can the the olives last once open |
Answer: | About 12 |
