Answer:	These beans are NOT soft. Yes, they had to be soaked in order to sprout them, but then they had to dry them to make them shelf stable. The instructions do mention soaking for shorter cooking time. The instructions, exactly as written on the bag:Instructions:Add 1 cup of Beans to 4 cups of boiling water in a medium saucepan. Boil for 15 minutes.Remove from heat and drain.Ready to consume, or add to any meal.Makes 4 servings.Presoak for shorter cooking time.BTW, I used to eat these without presoaking or cooking and I loved the flavor -- then I broke a tooth. If you want to eat these straight out of the bag, do so at your own risk. Fixing a broken tooth can be quite painful AND expensive. Now I boil some water, remove the water from the heat, then add the beans. After soaking an hour or two, they're soft enough to eat as a snack (or add to a cooked dish).

Stove Top

Soak rice 15-30 minutes for extra length (optional).

Take 1 cup of Royal Basmati Rice and gently rinse twice to remove starch. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Add 1 cup rice, cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 20 minutes or until water is absorbed. Once the cooking process is complete, leave the cooked rice in the pan for 5 minutes.

Microwave

Take 1 cup of Royal Basmati Rice and gently rinse twice to remove starch. Drain the rice and add 2¼ cups of water. Cover tightly with a microwave-safe lid and cook on HIGH power setting for 15 minutes.* Remove from microwave.

CAUTION: BOWL WILL BE HOT

If rice is too hard in the first cooking, use more water. Use less water if it is too soft.

Simply Boiled

Swirl your hand through the water and the rice; the water will go cloudy. Repeat this washing process until the water runs clear. Fill up the bowl and let the rice soak for 30 minutes, then drain the rice.

Fill a medium saucepan with 1 3/4 cups water, add a pinch of salt, and bring to a boil. Add the rice, stir, and wait until the water comes back to a full boil, turn the heat down to lowest, and then cover. Cook for 15 minutes and then cut the heat. Let the rice sit for five minutes.

If you want to add some flavor to your plain rice, here is how you can do it -

Rinse the rice, drain the water and set it aside. Heat 1 tablespoon ghee in a pan or wok and add 1 whole bayleaf, 1-inch cinnamon bark, 4-5 cloves to it. Once the cumin seeds start spluttering, add the drained rice to it. Saute the rice for two minutes on a medium flame. Add two cups of water and salt to the rice and mix well. Bring to a quick boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.

Cover and cook for approximately 5 - 6 minutes, till all the water has evaporated and the rice is cooked through. Top with chopped cilantro and serve hot with your favourite curry!

Question:	Is this rice aged? if so, how long
Answer:	I only purchase the Basmati rice and I can tell you that there is NO other Basmati rice that can compete with its flavor. I have tried 5 other brands of Basmati and none are even close in flavor. I havenever tried the organic tricolor quinoa.

Answer:	Yes Rice are gluten free. Since the processing and packaging plant of Bombay Basmati rice only handles rice, it is safe to say that this product has no cross contamination of gluten.

Answer:	Checked all over the bag and says nothing about being aged. Comes from India originally. My package says it good to 2021 if you want to call that aged lol
Question:	How does one properly open the bag
Answer:	No need to soak or wash. I put my rice in a pan with water, swirl it around, and pour off that water. Then I add new water (1 1/2 cups for 1 cup rice), turn on the heat, bring to boiling, cover. Then reduce the heat to the lowest setting for 16 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit covered 5 minutes. Fluff w fork. That’s my method, anyway. I like this Bombay Market rice a lot, will reorder.
