Answer:	Wow - you should have had pea soup by then! I'm not sure why that happened, but after 3 or 4 hours if they're still hard, they should definitely see a doctor Lol... Maybe you received an older package where the peas were over dry...next time you can try soaking them in your fridge for a few days, then try to cook...but don't cook for so long and see how they are...maybe 45 minutes...

Answer:	I just made a smoothie using these and it was great. It was not at all gritty. They ground up very well. In my smoothie: banana (this was a little more liquidy than a regular banana, as it was very ripe and had just thawed from the freezer), strawberries, these freeze-dried blueberries (straight out of the bag), a little Greek yogurt, honey, and ice.
