Answer:	I know this is an old question, but may help someone else -- I have found (I'm no expert, though!) that gel or paste color works best with fondant and modeling chocolate. Sometimes liquid oil based can throw off the consistency.

Answer:	I would imagine it would, as any food coloring I have used throughout my life has. I would suggest wearing something old or already stained. I do love this product. It has so many more colors than the standard 5 colors and you can keep it in the container they come in (inserted back in the box). I just completed an ORANGE Butter Cream frosting and decorated with a large cobweb (edible) and 12 candy spiders. Good luck and have fun.
