User questions & answers

Question: Did anyone else notice the "exfoliating" bumps in this? Also, different smell then the last container I bought. Same exact brand and type
Answer: Mine had a few bumps, but that's to be expected with an unrefined oil. I have no complaints about the smell. It smells wonderfull! If the jar you have has a lot of fine little beads in it, then it has most likely been heated up to the point where it is liquefied more than once. I have had that happen with other brands of coconut oil that I kept in rooms that were around 70 degrees. It liquefied, and when it hardened again it had little bumps in it.
Question: Is it cold extraction
Answer: The label states, "100% mechanically (expeller) pressed unrefined organic coconut oil."
Question: My skin has started itching recently for no apparent reason. I have numerous allergies. Has anyone with similar experience used this product
Answer: Not for many allergies but to moisturize skin and hair yes i use this product often mainly for hair and body after showers
Question: is this cold pressed and can i use for cooking, is it edible
Answer: Of course it's edible. It's extremely good for you. It's one of the healthy fats. I put 1 tbsp in my coffee every morning.

User questions & answers

Question: I s this a liquid or creamy texture
Answer: Coconut oil's texture will depend on the temperature where you have it. As someone already noted, it is liquid above about 76 degrees, but solid below that. In Chicago mine is solid and white in winter, but clear and liquid in summer.
Question: Is this non-hydrogenated
Answer: Hi Min7, Coconut oil is naturally a hydrogenated fat so it does not need to go through a hydrogenation process. This is what makes it stable! Hope this helps answer your question, and if you have any other questions you can reach us by responding to this comment thread or by email at [email protected].
Question: Coconut oil is coming up as a great treatment for oral health. Do you brush your teeth before or after a rinse with coco nut oil
Answer: Hi Main Line Mama,Oil pulling is an ancient practice in Ayurvedic medicine, shown to naturally accelerate the body's detoxification process. Place 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in the mouth and swish for 20 minutes. Swishing activates enzymes and the enzymes draw toxins out of the blood. It is recommended to complete this process on an empty stomach, best in the morning. After 20 minutes, spit out the end product in the trash can and brush your teeth following this step. This will rev up your metabolism for the day and promote healthier gums and teeth due to the health-promoting saturated fatty acids found in coconut oil. Keep in mind that refined coconut oil, derived from dried coconut, does not reap the same benefits as unrefined, organic coconut oil. Viva Labs Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is 100% pure, unrefined coconut oil, retaining all of its nutritional properties. Hope this helps answer your question, and if you have any other questions you can reach us by responding to this comment thread or by email at [email protected] NutritionistViva Labs
Question: Would this product be useful to help transition African-American hair from relaxed to natural
Answer: Hi Seeker,Coconut oil has been used for centuries as an all-natural moisturizer for hair and skin. It can be applied to the ends of the hair as well as the scalp to penetrate the cuticles. You may apply it to the hair daily, or 2-3 times per week as an overnight treatment. Viva Labs is organic, pure, unrefined coconut oil, free from unwanted preservatives and harsh chemicals that normally aggravate sensitive hair and skin, and is suitable for all hair types. Hope this helps answer your question, and if you have any other questions you can reach us by responding to this comment thread or by email at [email protected] NutritionistViva Labs

User questions & answers

Question: Is this hexane and chemical free
Answer: I know it is chemically free and minimally processed. It says: Mechanically(expeller) pressed naturally unrefined virgin organic coconut oil. I buy the glass Spectrum org. virgin coconut oil. there is a smaller jar that is in a plastic container.
Question: How many jars for that price? Can't be one jar
Answer: This is the 29 ounce jar which usually costs Around $22. The prices have gone way up in the past year or so. You can buy the smaller, 14 oz. , jars for anywhere between $9 to $14 So two of the smaller jars at the lower price is a better deal than The larger one but it’s often hard to find the lower price in the 14 oz jars. Be sure to buy the “unrefined or expeller pressed” coconut oil because it is purer, cleaner and more nutritious than the refined oil which is a exposed to heat and/or chemicals. This is the only coconut oil I buy now because it has the best and most consistent taste of all the different varieties I tried. For me the extra cost is worth it. of the smaller jars at the lower price is a better deal but it’s often hard to find the lower priced, unrefined, expeller pressed at the lower price range. that cheap but Sometimes the price goes lower for certain Amazon sellers and I wait to buy then. The “Refined” oil is much cheaper But it’s my understanding that the chemicals or the heat used in the refined type of coconut oil ruins the nutritional value or may Have some chemical residue is in it so I always buy only the unrefined or expeller pressed type and it is well worth the money.the oil and some can be cheaper at the lower price. For the unrefined, expeller pressed I think it is worth this money because it has the best taste of all the ones I’ve tried and is also very consistent in taste.
Question: Is it cold pressed
Answer: Yes, by epeller. . . according to the label. It says, " 100% mechanically (expeller) pressed Unrefined Virgin Organic Coconut Oil"
Question: Is the date on the jar a Best Buy date or expiration date
Answer: My understanding as it pertains to dates on products is the best buy date that the company has to adhere to but the product itself hasn't expired as it pertains to consumer consumption. Hope this helps.
