Answer:	You can put only one on top, but you cannot remove the empty arm. You can fold the empty arm out of the way a bit, but you won’t be able to completely hide it. Also, you will not be able to center the single top monitor perfectly, so this setup will always look a bit odd. There are posts with center-mount brackets, but the center mount monitor typically mount directly to the upright, without the ability to make the adjustments you can with a swing arm. Finally, on the models that clamp to the desk tipping over will not a problem.

Answer:	I had mounted it on the side of a kitchen cabinet over our bar and had no problem with it moving in any way. My wife positions it when she is in the kitchen while doing odds and ends and has no problem with it staying in the position she has selected. We love it.
Question:	I don't have a 4mm drill bit, nor does any of my friends. What size drill bit can I use instead
Answer:	4mm / 25.4 = .1574" so a #21(.159") standard drill bit would work.
Question:	Does this allow for quick rotating from landscape to portrait, or does it require tools
Answer:	Just don't tighten the nut down all the way, and check it periodically. I rotate my 23" monitor in and out of portrait/landscape mode at least once a day, and abuse the heck out of the arm itself by constantly pulling it in and out of position. I basically only pull out the arm if I need the second monitor, put it back away to clear the space and talk to someone at my desk, pull it back when I go back to work, then rotate it to landscape at night when I want to relax, playing a video game. It gets put back to portrait when I put it away entirely for the night. Once or twice a year I check and tighten anything that's gotten loose. Seriously a nice mount, keeping in mind that mine is anchored to a solid-wood pine hutch on my desk, rather than sunk into drywall. (And, yes, I realize this question is old, but maybe it'll help someone.)
