To maximize the height of the TV above the base, one would align the upper bolt holes in the back of the TV with the uppermost hole in the vertical bars. I other words, mount the TV has high as possible on each vertical bar. The stand can be configured so that the uppermost bolt hole in each vertical bar is 40 inches above the base. So, to calculate clearance between the bottom of the TV and the base: (1) Measure the distance from the bottom of the TV to its upper mounting-bolt hole and (2) subtract that distance from 40 inches. Question:	Shall i attach this to metal studs or backer board (attached to metal studs) to mount sony x900h (85in)? i can provide a picture of studs and backer
Answer:	If possible, I would attach directly to the studs so as not to push the TV as far out from the wall. My choice would probably be toggle bolts through (laser leveled) drilled holes. The drawback to this is being sure that it is absolutely level. A backer board would obviously be easier if you needed more than one try to get it level.

Will the TV wall mount fit my TV?

First, please check your wall for wood studs, it cannot be used on concrete wall or drywall alone. Anchor needed is for concrete wall installation.

Next, the weight of your TV should be less than 132lbs (60kg).

Then, mounting holes distance on the back of TV must be less than 24" (600mm) horizontally and 16" (400mm) vertically.

Your TV should be at least 37 inch. Otherwise, you will see the bracket.

In addition, please check the area inside the 4 mounting holes to make sure there are not any plugs. Otherwise, the plate may block the plugs.

Finally, please check possible blocked cable/input.
