7 best vhs players for sale new
the availability of new VHS players for sale was quite limited. VHS players have become obsolete and have been largely replaced by more modern technologies like DVD players, Blu-ray players, and digital streaming devices. However, you might still find a few new VHS players for sale in specialty electronics or vintage stores, or occasionally through online marketplaces.
Here are some key points about VHS players for sale:
Limited Availability: New VHS players are not commonly manufactured or sold by major electronics retailers. The technology is outdated, and most consumers have transitioned to digital formats.
Vintage and Specialty Stores: If you are interested in purchasing a new VHS player, you may want to check vintage or specialty electronics stores, which sometimes carry old or refurbished models. Keep in mind that these units may be more expensive due to their rarity.
Online Marketplaces: Online platforms like eBay or niche websites dedicated to vintage electronics may have listings for new or gently used VHS players. When buying online, be sure to research the seller's reputation and the condition of the player.
Features: Newer VHS players, if available, might have additional features like built-in VCR/DVD combo units or VCR/DVD recorder combo units. These can be convenient if you want to transfer VHS tapes to digital formats or watch DVDs.
Maintenance: Since VHS technology is aging, it's essential to consider maintenance and repairs when purchasing a new VHS player. Finding replacement parts or someone who can repair the player might be challenging.
Format Compatibility: Ensure that the VHS player you choose is compatible with the VHS tapes you intend to play. Some players may have limited compatibility with certain tape formats or recording speeds.
Keep in mind that as time passes, the availability of new VHS players will continue to decline, and it may become increasingly difficult to find new units. Most consumers have moved on to digital media formats, making VHS players a niche item for collectors and enthusiasts.
If you are looking to watch or digitize old VHS tapes, another option is to consider transferring the content to digital formats using specialized equipment or services that can convert VHS tapes to DVD or digital files. This way, you can preserve your VHS content and enjoy it on modern devices.

User questions & answers
Question: | Where is remote control at |
Answer: | Not a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer... To play DVDs & VHS video tapes, I use a standard 3 color "yellow red white" analog cable from the output of the SD-V280 to the input on the back of my Phillips 4K UHD TV (the ONLY analog connections on it). As long as the TV has these "yellow red white" input connections on it, you can play video tapes & DVDs. However, to be able to record VHS tapes, I have to use the same type of 3 color cable coming from the analog output of a DVR to the input of the SD-V280; there are no analog output connections on newer SMART TVs. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Do you have any 12 volt models |
Answer: | You would have to buy a dvd writer to do that. |
Question: | Do you have 220v ? Does it play all systems |
Answer: | Yes, this should be the orginal remote that works with your unit. You can purchase this remote on Amazon. TOSHIBA SE-R0066 (Part No. 79099151) Remote control for SD-V280 DVD/VCR Combo. "THIS REMOTE OPERATES THE FOLLOWING TOSHIBA MODELS:SER0066 SD-K200 SD-K200U SD-V280 SD-V280U SD-V280UA SD-V280US SDK200 SDK200U SDV280 SDV280U SDV280UA SDV280US". |
Question: | Does this use the video S cable or the red, white and yellow old fashioned cables |
Answer: | Since it's Toshiba, I would guess it's made in Japan, but the company that does the repair and restoration on the unit is in the U.S. I believe it's in Texas. I know it can be a bit scary buying refurbished electronics, but I am very happy with my unit. It works perfectly and saved me from having to buy a new TV, since mine is an older model. The company also offers a "100% guarantee of satisfaction". That's why I paid a bit more and went with the vendor titled "Mr. Transistor", and am glad I did. Hope that helps. |
Question: | Will this hook up to any TV |
Answer: | no, this model does not... try the Magnavox model mvd22066 (vcr and dvd player/recorder) biggest problem is locating one to purchase |
Question: | can a vcr tape be copies onto dvd |
Answer: | Plays and records |
Question: | I need a replacement remote to this. Any suggestions how to get one |
Answer: | This is a very obsolete item. When I bought it more than 10 years ago it did include the remote and cables. It does have an analog tuner, so in order to record today's digital broadcasting you will need an digital/analog converter. Be advised that judging by today's standards, VHS image quality (240i) will appear horrible. |
Question: | Where is it made |
Answer: | Mine does not have a plug for hdmi, im sure they make adapter cords from rca plugs to hdmi but ive never looked for them. |
Question: | will this vcr record shows from the tv on a timer recording daily |
Answer: | Unfortunately the one I got didn’t have a remote so I can’t help there. |
Question: | Does it play vhs tapes or just record |
Answer: | It’s perfect for vcr |
Question: | Does it have a tuner so I can record from the television? Is the remote included? Are the connection cables included |
Answer: | To connect a VHS player to a computer, a person will need to use an adapter with analog capabilities. The adapter or cable should have a USB connector on one end, which will connect to the computer, and an RCA connector on the other end to connect to the VHS player. |
Question: | Can i get an hdmi cord for the vcr player |
Answer: | Message Amazon. They will walk you through. |
Question: | I see it says programed remote? Would i have a problem using it to program my own timers etc |
Answer: | Technically? No, the battery is internal. Realistically? If you don't mind carrying another device of around the same size, there is the option of external rechargeable battery packs with USB connectivity. You would charge it and when the power for your MP3 player runs low, you plug the battery into your device...they aren't really all that expensive, like this one...http://www.amazon.com/PoweraddTM-5000mAh-External-Battery-smartphones/dp/B00AW6YFG2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1374246649&sr=8-5&keywords=USB+External+Power |
Question: | Can I play my vcr tapes on this |
Answer: | .FLV files are not directly supported. A CD with conversion software is provided though. |
Question: | Can this be connected to a desktop computer with a monitor |
Answer: | it comes with one cord charging cable/usb cable all other cords do not come with this one.. |
Question: | How can i return a faulty product |
Answer: | My polaroid player was lost about a year ago. Sorry I can't help you. |

It plays just about any video disc format out there, from DVD-Video to DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD+RW. The player also handles audio CD, VCD/SVCD, and CD-R/RW discs filled with MP3 music or JPEG image files. The front A/V inputs add convenience when you simply want to quickly view those newly recorded videos from your camcorder.
Its full-featured, hi-fi stereo VCR allows you to record your favorite shows while watching a DVD. Auto clock and channel set-up makes recording of your favorite TV shows easy--just pop in a VHS tape and press record. Other VCR features include 8-event timer recording, two record settings (SP/EP), quasi S-VHS playback, four 19-micron video heads (for optimized EP recording), and flash rewind.
Sony's Precision Cinema Progressive technology uses a 12-bit video DAC (digital-to-analog converter) with high-bandwidth, 108 MHz processing to detect image changes at the pixel level, rather than at the level of whole scan lines. That makes this player's picture more faithful to the source--whether film or video--because it uses separate, optimized algorithms to handle different pixel behaviors. Separate algorithms are also used to process the moving and still parts of an image, resulting in sharp backgrounds with moving objects that are free from motion artifacts. The Precision Drive 3 feature provides a mechanism for reading DVDs that are in less than perfect condition, eliminating errors in playback due to imperfect, scratched, or warped discs.
The SLV-D370P offers a digital optical audio ouput, enabling Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound capability. Other connection options include:
- Component video (YPbPr; 480i/480p): 1 Out
- Composite AV (RCA): 2 Out; 2 In (1 front, 1 rear)
- S-Video: 1 In
- RF: 2

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come with a remote control |
Answer: | Hi Amazon Customer, yes, this DVD/VCR player comes with a remote. You may check this link for its specifications: https://docs.sony.com/release//specs/slv-d370p_specs.pdf Thanks, -Mark |
Question: | Does this unit play vhs tapes as well as DVDs |
Answer: | Hi J M Shullo, Yes, you can play both with this unit. You may refer to the link below for more product information:https://docs.sony.com/release//specs/slv-d370p_specs.pdfRegards,~Ralph |
Question: | no sound from vhs side of player |
Answer: | Definitely weird, if you're getting sound from the DVD side. You might try several VHS tapes, as the one you might be using may have become defective. Possibly your TV unit has some control button that allows you to select video/sound control, particularly if you're going from analog to digital. Other than that, I can't think of anything other than something that's disconnected in the VHS side of the player. |
Question: | Can this record dvd off of vhs movies, record to dvd from old vhs movies |
Answer: | Hi there! You can playback DVD discs on this player, but recording from or to a DVD disc is not supported. Please check this link for more details: https://docs.sony.com/release//SLVD370P.pdf -Jerome |
