Answer:	The glass in the back is mirrored near the wood area and fades to black near the top. It has a real appearance. I’m very happy with the product.
Question:	can anyone tell me how many logs are in the DF12310 model and size of logs are they really tiny logs or realistic
Answer:	No they aren't tiny logs. The thing that I noticed was not the size of the logs, but the way they make them look more realistic is by using a mirror behind the logs which creates a 3D effect.I While it does look more realistic, It detracts from the realism to see a that there is a mirror behind the logs. I resolved this by putting up black mesh curtains in front of the unit. I also know that Dimplex makes a front piece (not cheap) that would look even better. Check it out. Even having stated some problems, I appreciate having the visual of burning logs.

Answer:	Just fits in my 28" wide fireplace, but the dimensions must be online. It is so realistic that people actually think we have a fire going. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to put out a lot of heat but is a good backup for our regular heat.

Answer:	Very simple fix. Unplug first! Take the front facia plate off (4 Philips screws). Pull out the log insert and disconnect the connector so you can take it out completely. Inside you will see the reflecting bar with a bunch of little chrome tabs. When these rotate it's what makes the flame random. That bar is easily bent and causes a hump in the middle that makes the tabs hit the bottom when it rotates, thus the noise. There really no way to straighten it completely because of the way it goes in. Plus to replace the bulbs you have to move the bar, which will bend it anyway. You could trim the tabs but I found it easier to just bend them about an 1/8 of an inch. Honestly I did this on my dining room table with it plugged it. Its safe as long as you disconnect the log wire while it's plugged in. Then you can bend a few tabs, turn it on, see if any are still hitting and rinse/repeat as needed. The bonus is I find the flicker is even more realistic after bending them. Hope this helps.

Answer:	I don’t think it throws out a great deal of hot heat but does warm up a small room. We have a 12x16 room and it’s comfortable. If you hard wire it, I’m told that it is better. Ours is plugged in.

Answer:	The very back side is 17 inches wide. The RLG25 gets wider at the front. It is 25 inches wide at the front legs of the grate. The back edge of my fireplace box is 25 inches and it is 15 inches deep. The RLG25 fits perfectly even with the coal bed sitting in front of it.

Answer:	the unit draws 11 amps, probably when the heater is on high. Led lights don't draw much juice.The motor that turns the lights to create the flame effect is "probably" not all that hefty. Most home circuit breakers are 20 amps per branch. Wouldn't put it on a circuit that has a lot of stuff already on the same branch. If the surge protector can handle the 11 amp draw shouldn't be a problem. I'm not an electrician. I did notice one other thing, the cord for the unit seems like your usual lamp gauge cord...just saying. The logs look great!

Answer:	I do not know if I can answer this question. There is no speaker in the system, so a beep seems highly unlikely. The time and temperature flash until you set them. For instance, 75F for 30 minutes. They flash, but then quit flashing. The temperature will change as the room temperature changes. The numbers will flash as it counts down the last 60 seconds to let you know it is going to automatically turn off.

Answer:	The only difference I could find was the casing. Wood, or not. Don't know aside from that.

Answer:	I don't believe it uses "elements" per se, but it does have a really good fan, the heat is never overbearing so it won't heat a super big room... we use it in our living room. We turn the Central Heat and Air completely off and just rely on the Duraflame. If it is really cold (well below freezing outside) then we use it to augment our Central and it works wonderfully. I love the way the "logs" look like they have embers even when the unit is off, and the pseudo-flame is very realistic.. Some of my friends have mistaken it for a real fire in our fireplace!! As to the number of elements, I don't believe that matters too much, but I honestly do not know how many elements it has. I hope this has helped some.

Answer:	If you look at the back wall of your fireplace when it is dark you can see a different 360 lighting . it can be steady or flickering. The brightness change is minimal but can be noticed mostly when the room is dark. Fireplace looks best at night.

Answer:	The unit his one piece with the clear plastic insert. If you opt for the burning embers to put underneath, that is a separate piece You have to check with Amazon for their return policy. We have never had a problem with their policy for returns

Answer:	This is a subjective answer, but ours 20” unit sits in a 24” box with a 20” opening and looks a bit small. Personally I would go for a unit that is as large as you’re willing to go. The more you see the reflective screen the more the fire illusion is affected detrimentally, so the bigger the log set the less likely this will happen. We are very happy with our log set, the fire illusion isn’t perfect but is very good, especially if you use a google mini for crackling fireplace sounds.
