Answer:	This unit is not a "transmitter". I think what your asking is does it change the sound of the output. The answer then would be "Yes." This unit takes the digital audio from the TV digital output plug and then converts it to a regular analog audio output signal. Example: I have a small Bluetooth transmitter that I use for my earphones. It uses normal analog. I can't plug it into the speaker output jack of the TV because those jacks cut the speaker off. So I needed another audio output to plug it into. The only other audio output on the TV was a 192 KHz digital output jack. So I use the DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) to convert that digital TV audio to analog and then I plug the Bluetooth transmitter into the DAC converter. The Base and Volume control does work to change the audio level and base into the Bluetooth transmitter. I hope that helped.

Question:	I have a panasonic viera tv that has optical port and want to connect my speaker but has no optical just 3.5 jack audio will this work? loud enough
Answer:	It will work. As far as loudness, I am not sure, as I bought an inexpensive computer speaker set with wing speakers and subwoofer containing its own amplifier. I connected that analog jack to the converter and get amazing sound from my Viera TV. Only issue is having to adjust the sound volume and bass intensity manually without remote on the speaker control unit. Maybe these speaker sets are available with a remote if that is a problem.

Then you don't need this converter. In my case, I had to use this to go to an existing analog sound system to accomplish being able to have both speakers and headphones. It is my contention that new TV's are discriminating against those with hearing issues. I have to buy extra parts so others in the room can hear when I have headphones on. Most new TV's allow only one out put working at a time, unlike the older analog type.

Answer:	Greg's answer is misleading. These converters require HDCP (Hi-Def Copy Protection) capabilities, which is unclear that this, or similar units possess. I bought a similar unit for the very connection hookup asked (a TiVo Roamio to an rca tv), and had an error message on my screen that a connection with HDCP was required to view any programs.

Answer:	First, there is no coax "OUT" port on this device, only coax in. The red and white RCA connections give you the left and right stereo audio signals after conversion from the optical fiber input connected to the TV. Unless you have a most unusual stereo amp, you have multiple choices on the back of the amp for RCA left and right audio connections. Using a standard audio jumper cable with the red and white RCA connectors on both ends, hook this box to an unused port ( ie Tape), select that input for the amp and you should be good.

Answer:	Having just reviewed the features of that mixer, all I can offer may just be obvious suggestions: Using channel inputs 5~8, make sure your channel faders are increased sufficiently after you have turned the volume pot up on said converter... don't forget, you'll need to add a 5V power supply (not included) to the provided power cable.

Answer:	The way I set it up was through the TV, at the optical port. Yes, you can turn up the tv volume and it's just like the tv's speakers working. You can also mute the tv's speakers, and the volume control on the tv still operates the volume on the Prozor converter. I didn't hear any background noises, when using it with headsets.

User questions & answers

Question:	Anyone have any issues with their recording schedules disappearing? Mine wiped all my schedules
Answer:	Ok I don't have this model but I have another model by same company (HW-150pvr) and it is dumping schedules too. I've had two units over 4 years and it's happened in the past but happening a lot more now. I'm on Amazon to find a replacement because this is unacceptable. I'm thinking Mediasonic is to be avoided.
Question:	Hi folks what external hard drive do you use with this? Thanks lynn
Answer:	I used a 500GB salvaged out of an old laptop that was totally dead. I ordered a cheap $7.99 ORICO USB3.0 to SATA III 2.5" External Hard Drive Enclosure from Amazon as well to mount it in. Worked perfectly. I've also used a cheap (free) 32GB USB thumb drive that I didn't have any problem with. Got that thumb drive free from a Microcenter computer store.

HW130STB allows you to record TV show in USB 2.5" / 3.5" external hard drive and play back on your TV or Computer. USB flash drive is not recommended for recording function.

TV Tuner Function

HW130STB can be additional TV Tuner to your TV. If your TV does not have TV tuner, it can act as a receiver for over-the-air TV channel. If your TV already has a tuner, you can watch TV using existing tuner, and use this box to record another channel.
