Question:	is this re-usable
Answer:	No. They are disposable. They seem to fit better than anything else I've found (disposable or not). The non-disposable ones that fit over the glasses don't seem to be 100% light blocking so our specialist said they are basically ineffective if you are treating lazy eye. Which was disappointing because my daughter gets very sweaty when she's active and then these fall right off. I get about 2 hours wear out of each one then have to replace. But these were the ones they recommended and give out in the office as well.

Answer:	I wouldn't recommend it because when my daughter takes a "long" nap with it on and she still needs patching time after she gets up,it comes time to removing it's STUCK on pretty hard.

Answer:	My three year old had it but it moved on her glasses when she would be playing. We went with the adhesive patches by orthopad.

Answer:	It blocks it out totally. The other side is black and covers not only the lens but also the space around the eye so vision is dependent on the other eye. This has been wonderful for my daughter and her anisometropia.

Answer:	I have found applying a thin layer of Milk of Magnesia, allow it to dry, underneath the eye pad protects the child’s skin. Then, I apply petroleum jelly to the outsides of the patch and let it sit a few minutes. The patch comes off quite easily and painlessly. I hope this helps.

WHY DO WE PATCH THE EYE?

With amblyopia, commonly called 'Lazy eye', vision loss happens because the brain favours the eye with stronger vision and basically ignores images from the eye with poor vision. Therefore the “lazy eye” and the brain are unable to develop a strong and reliable connection via the nerve fibres that travel from the eye to the brain, resulting in underdevelopment of the visual pathway.⁠ ⁠

To treat amblyopia, most doctors recommend the use of patching or eye drops. This is known as occlusion therapy, where the eye with stronger vision is penalised with the use of patches or eye drops, to give the “lazy eye” a competitive advantage and allow its nerve connections, from the eye to the brain (visual pathway), to strengthen and develop and therefore improve the eyes vision.
