I would definitely recommend these for outdoor use over the magnetic mounts. Those are great for indoors, but not at all secure outside. |

It will handle the mic part, but unless your camera has a speaker built-in (look for a series of holes on the bottom of canera) then you'll still need a speaker to talk back. Most people that have trouble getting this to work probably don't know all of the requirements in their software, I know q-see documentation wasn't sufficient and required some extra work to figure out. The manufacturer and model number of the camera would be helpful in figuring out what you need. If the connector looks like a large telephone connector, you may be set already. |

| Answer: | I didn't see it state that it was outdoor rated but I have been using this one and another of their microphones outside for a couple of years without issues. I would suggest using some heat shrink tubing or fusing tape to weatherproof the power and audio connections. |
