Question:	Can the center aluminum pole be shortened? My area is only 7'6" tall at the cross beam
Answer:	Unless you want to saw the center post, there is no way to shorten it. I suspect it you do want to saw it you could shorten it by 12".

Answer:	We use IKEA base with gravel rocks inside and it’s very heavy to keep umbrella stable. It was one of the least expensive options too - $50.

Answer:	There is a strap to keep it closed and secured to the pole. We bought $50 IKEA base that we filled with gravel rocks but you can use water too. The base is flat on top and I put flower pots on top - looks great!
Question:	What about the base for this umbrella? It doesn’t look heavy enough
Answer:	You need to buy additional base for it (pretty much like any other umbrella this kind). IKEA base works well.

Answer:	The back of the base rail can get close. But the canter lever armor on the back pushes out backwards, the more the umbrella leans over. I guess you will need to keep it away from the wall by about 12 inches.

Answer:	Yes it does, however it would be short. If you’re looking at the picture of the umbrella up and open, there is a thing that looks like a knob and then a lever you can lift up. The top part of the umbrella fits into that bottom piece about 3-4 inches or so. I can send you a picture of mine if you would like. Just let me know.

Answer:	Probably shouldn't. That's by design so the movement of the canopy doesn't stress the frame. I suppose you could glue it together, but then you can't lower it.

Answer:	The cross base is the best support for the umbrella as it does had a drop feature and it does get bolted to the base I suspect a standard 3.5 weighted base would work as well but Not sure I’d recommend it. I purchased the sand bags weights to support the cross base also it is a little wonky without it make sure level ground is chosen for placement

Answer:	I found some good self fill weight bags on Amazon that work the best. Due to wind the umbrella can become unbalanced and the self fill with sand can be adjusted to ensure enough weight on all sides.

Question:	can the orientation of the umbrella be adjusted (without moving the base)? in other words is there any 360 degrees movement possible
Answer:	No..altho i need to say that this umbrella didn't lock into place so it would swing around 360 degrees and the rope holding it up snapped after 60 days
