Answer:	There is a red led sensor that lights up inside the unit, but it is behind a white mylar window. I've not been able to see it from outside the unit even in the darkest night. Only when the cover is up for testing or adjusting. No one knows it is on my gate pillar where it is hidden. I would definitely recommend this unit. I've had one for 10+ years.
Question:	Could I use this to power off a fan when triggered. and then have the fan turn back on after motion is not detected
Answer:	I'm not familiar with that Model but I can tell you that for $29 you can purchase a HT (Baofeng UV-5R) that you can program to receive the signal from the Dakota Alert unit. The Dakota systems use a common VHF signal that you can pickup with any VHF HT its called MURS frequencies - hope this helps.
Question:	Is there also a light sensor so if you plug in a small LED lamp it will only come on only when the room is fairly dark
Answer:	No. The 3000 Series and MURS are different units and are not compatible.

Answer:	You can use any brand of VHF high radio if you can set it to the MURS channel(s) and optional tomes of your choice. Ch1 151.820/Ch2 151.880/Ch3 151.940/Ch4 154.570/Ch5 154.600. Channels 1-5 are narrowband on Dakota brand radios. I use BAOFENG UV5R radios, they are programmable and inexpensive. Just be sure to have them programmed correctly to keep it legal.

Answer:	Sure if you want to use it that way... Aim the beam across the entrance of the garage and when someone/something breaks the beam, a signal will be sent to the receiver just like something in the driveway.

Answer:	It is not perfect but I use mine to detect intruders. Let's me know MOST of the time with few false alarms from birds or dogs etc. I cannot say for sure without seeing your place, but I would advise you to give it a try. Get the bird house to disguise the sensor. I would suggest maybe some game trail cameras too. Good luck!

Answer:	This unit will conduct power to its' connected source for either 1,2,5,10 or 20 minutes depending on how you set it up when motion is detected. As long as the fan has a power consumption of 240 watts or less it should be OK. Just remember this unit has a maximum power rating of 240 watts. Using it with anything that consumes more power than that maybe risky at best if not down right unsafe.

Answer:	No, there is not. I returned this product to Amazon because it did NOT function most of the time. I could walk right up to the sensor and my attached desk lamp would NOT come on. In my opinion, do NOT buy this product !!
