| Answer: | You can recess the screws if you want, but I did not because I usually wear basketball shoes or running shoes when I am riding my mountain bike. If I get into a situation where the grass or ground is wet, the spikes make sure my feet do not slip off the pedals. I also have a city bike with less agressive plastic spikes. I took the comfort pedals off the city bike and switched them with the original mountain bike pedals, and then these more aggressive pedals on the mountain bike, because especially in the early morning when the grass is wet and I stop to cross a grass medium my feet would get wet and when I put them back on the pedals they may slip. With these there is no slippage. |
