Answer:	Sound performance is quite good, and the volume range is way higher than I want for indoors. But mine DOES NOT work with batteries. It is supposed to, but it doesn't. The batteries work fine in my flashlight, so they aren't the problem. I don't know how common this problem is with this model.

Answer:	Probably good enough. I actually have trouble not getting it too loud (when I'm not in the shower). I haven't tried it while I'm in the shower, but it could probably get loud enough. (Though it isn't waterproof - leave it outside of the shower.)

Answer:	If it were me, I would not turn off the Thunderstorm warning, because Super Cell Thunderstorms can and do produce Tornadoes sometimes. Just my take on it.
Question:	Can the volume of the alarm be changed? Wall mountable
Answer:	The unit is ABSOLUTELY wall mountable. Two channels in the back to hang on mounted screws. Alert tone volume cannot be changed. Radio alarm volume... yes.
Question:	Does this radio activate read the warning and turn off automatically after the warning is red out
Answer:	On the WR300, It turns off automatically FIVE MINUTES after the warning is done. So, at 2am, you have to listen to it blare if you don't want to get out of bed to push the button. I do not know about the WR400. The Reecom R-1630 has EOM, which turns the audio back to standby mute as soon as the message is done.
Question:	Does it use batteries for backup
Answer:	It has the ability to run off of batteries or the included A/C adapter. Without the A/C adapter the batteries will last about a month in the monitoring mode before becoming exhausted. It also had the ability to tune in regular radio stations in addition to the weather channels, which makes it useful in time of emergency when the power goes out (running on batteries).

Power selector switch on front allows separate choice of "Batt" (i.e. AA cells), or "Crank/Solar" (which are the two ways of charging up the rechargeable battery). So, if you select "Crank/Solar" the radio is actually running off the rechargeable battery, and attempting to use either the solar cells or the hand crank to keep it charged.

Answer:	It has a switch on it for NOAA weather alerts. The 4-way power is this: it has a handle you can turn to charge it, that's 1; it has a solar panel for charging, that's 2; it has a lithium ion (or something) battery that you can plug into the wall to charge, that's 3; and you can also put 3 AA batteries in it to power it, that's 4. 4-ways to charge it. I liked this radio, but wish I had bought the digital one for a few bucks more.

Answer:	There is no indication that the battery is replaceable. If it were, it would probably cost more than a new flashlight anyway. When/if it gives out, you'd throw the battery away anyhow. That is the bigger pollutant than the rest of the plastic case. With all due respect to the environment, I'd say it's a minor worry.
