Answer:	The SSCS5 has respectable bass response for a bookshelf, down to 50 Hz or so, but I would highly recommend you pair with a decent subwoofer for best results. I use the SSCS5 in a 2.1 setup in our master bedroom and they absolutely slay for movies and music! The imaging and soundstage is spectacular. Really no need for a full surround setup if space is limited or you don’t want to monkey around with wiring rear speakers. However, pairing these with a good subwoofer makes a world of difference in the impact you will experience for movies. If you listen to a lot of electronic music, a good sub is a must.

Answer:	Both have quite similar sound signature, but if you listen carefully I can say xb31 is way better than xb30. First, 31 has more dynamic bass, you won't feel boxing sound like 30. Second 31 has wider and more open sound stage than 30. 30 over emphasis on mid range which cause treble and bass subside while 31 sounds more balance than 30。 thirdly when you listen to female vocal, you may find 30 gives you sweet sound at first impression while 31 Sounds rational and neutral. Lastly live mode do make sense this time. May be you will find it make sound slim but as casual listening this mode do provide wider sound stage and fill in big room. I still don't like extra bass mode. Lots of YouTube reviewers believe Sony don't know how to put treble on their speaker. I don't agree with this critics as same as I think jbl don't Know how to make their rough slim and too bright mid-range and treble sound rolled over a little bit. Personally I can say xb31 is the best mid range portable speaker I have experienced. It includes almost any function you can imagine and the best sound as well. My experience s in mid-range speakers, bo A1, Bose revolve, mini, jbl charge 2,3, flip 3,4, ue boom and mega boom, Denon envaya mini first generation. Sony X3, x33, xb3, xb30, hg1. Sony nails it this time unfortunately lots of people already lose patience to Sony.

Answer:	If you're looking for the best overall match the Sony Core SACS9 10" Powered Sub does quite well if you have a large room and RCA splitter or a receiver that supports dual subwoofers get 2 or buy a 12 or 15" subwoofer from Klipsch or SVS. It also depends on if you're using these more for Home Theater or Music. If you're going for Music I'd suggest 1-2 small subwoofers for a better response time if you're going for home theater only a larger subwoofer will give you more rumble for immersion. If you have a more mixed-use situation I think dual 10" Subwoofers are the sweet spot, and the Sony Core SACS9 Subwoofer is made to compliment the frequency response of the core series speakers and matches the aesthetic as well.

This is the set up that I have in my room and it's 15'x15'. It sounds amazing...

Answer:	If using with an iPhone just swipe down on the screen and it will show you the battery level of the Bluetooth speaker that it’s connected to. At least mine does.

Answer:	Based on Laura M’s comment, I already had an XB10 and ordered the XB12 and have not been able to use it as a second speaker :( ... the manual says you need to have the same model # in order to use as second speaker. I wish I had thought to read the manual for XB-12 before I bought it. I will have to return it now.

Question:	can you connect to cell phone for calls and how is sound quality on the calls
Answer:	Yes it allows easy to connect, I use it at the shower when the water makes a lot of back noise and I can talk perfect, but during calls if you want to keep a fluid conversation, I have noticed that the mic works perfect no farther than 1m (around 3ft) farther than that the other side on the call will start to experience breaks at your voice, but if you keep close everything works nice and smooth.
