Question:	It seems the wood color varies from one person to another. Does this seem to be the case? (Upon ordering, I would be hoping for a lighter wood shade
Answer:	The color is quite light...I have not seen a darker shade of wood. Between the one I ordered, the one my friend has, and the one my mom has...the color is very consistent.

Answer:	No. You cannot connect an external speaker. Use good headphones. But it can be connected to a Sherwood receiver.

Answer:	In my opinion no. They size is very convenient and probably enough sound for one dough out but not two and stands. You need to research the Ion Explorer Outback. That one would most definitely have the punch and then some that your looking to accomplish. Also battery life on the express has been 4+ hours in my experience at a max volume where the Explorer 40+hours. All in all the express might leave you wishing you had dropped the additional dime for the bigger unit. The m happy with both. Don't get me wrong. I'm happy with the express. I use it when working on the yard etc. and great sound but for what your asking the Explorer outback would be my choice.

The ION Audio Plunge is certified for IPX Level 7 waterproofing - it is able to be fully immersed in water without damaging the unit!

 

How do I charge the Plunge?  How long does the charge last?

The Plunge comes with a micro USB port so it can be charged using the included micro-USB cable.  It can take up to 4 hours to fully charge and the battery can last up to 20 hours on a full charge.

 

Can I answer phone calls with the Plunge?

Yes!  When you have an incoming call, Plunge’s speaker will play a ringtone.

1. To answer the call, press Plunge's Call Receive 
   
   Note: If you get an incoming call during music playback, the music will pause until you
   
   end the call.
2. Speak into the microphone and adjust the call volume using the Volume 
3. To end the call, press the Call End 
4. To reject an incoming call, press and hold the Call Receive 

 

How do I connect the Plunge to my Bluetooth device?

1. Turn on your Bluetooth device.
2. Power on the Plunge and it will automatically go into pairing mode to search for Bluetooth devices. You will know you are in pairing mode when the Bluetooth icon is slowly flashing.
3. Navigate to your Bluetooth device’s setup screen, find "Plunge" and connect.
   
   Note: If your Bluetooth device prompts for a pairing code, enter “0000”.
4. Press and release the Bluetooth button to disconnect a paired Bluetooth device.
5. To connect to another Bluetooth device, repeat step 3.
   
   Note: Maximum range will be achieved when using devices with Bluetooth 4.0.

Answer:	I'm trying to connect to my Echo, and Alexa says it cannot find a device. A call to Ion tech support got the response, "Gee, we don't know. Try another device, see if that works." It did work with my iPad, so the Plunge is OK, but perhaps not compatible with the Echo.

Answer:	When my speaker's battery was drained, it took about an hour to recharge. On a full charged battery, the speaker should last a couple of hours.

For optimal performance, place the product in your room at line of sight, so it is unaffected by walls, furniture, etc. Maximum range will be achieved when using devices with Bluetooth 4.0. Battery life may vary based on temperature, age, and volume usage of product. Troubleshooting If the sound is distorted: Try lowering the volume control of your sound source, musical instrument, or microphone. Also, try to reduce the overall volume of Tailgater using the Master Volume knob. If there is too much bass: Try adjusting the tone or EQ control on your so und source to lower the ba ss level. This will allow you to play the music louder before clipping (distortion) occu rs. You can also control EQ using the free ION Block Rocker app for iOS and Android. If there is a high-pitched whist ling noise when using microphones: This is probably feedback. Point the microphone away from the speaker. If there is poor AM reception: Disconnect AC power for optimal AM radio recep tion. To further adjust AM reception, move entire unit. If you can’t hear the microphone over the music volume: Turn down the music vo lume from your source. If you can’t play music from a flash drive: The USB port is only for charging USB devices.

Answer:	The Tailgater has an AUX port that you could connect to the audio source. We use it with an iPad to play music. I believe it would work for your purpose as long as you can connect an audio out cable to the source.
Question:	can you use this for karaoke? how do you do this
Answer:	Several ways to do karaoke. It has a microphone jack with volume control for the singer, and you you can use bluetooth to stream youtube or other media from a laptop/tablet/phone/computer/smart tv or any other bluetooth media player, and it will play the music with a separate volume control for the music. You can also connect your music media through the aux port. Karaoke CDs can be used if you have a computer or other device that plays them. You may need to get an app to play CD+G or mp3+G format to see the lyrics. If you want sound effects like reverb, you need to add them through your connected device, it does not have them natively (but supposedly can be added through an ION phone app. I have yet to try that). There are lots of songs with lyrics on youtube, so youtube can be your music and lyric source for karaoke, with no need to buy karaoke CDs. Also, a sound mixer paired with this could let you get effects and voice cancelling. Lots of ways to do karaoke!

Answer:	I would NOT recommend this box for a backyard of that size. Personally, I believe that this speaker works best in an enclosed environment (approx 40' X 50'). Hope this helps. Great box!

Answer:	Not sure. The built-in connector is the "old" standard 30pin Apple connector so the newer Lightning connector won't work there. However cables are available to connect the 1/8th in. Headphone jack to a wired input on the Tailgater. So the answer is yes one way or another,

Is the Aquaboom really waterproof?

The Aquaboom is iPX7 waterproof certified, meaning that it can be submerged in water.  And it will even float!

 

How do I pair my Bluetooth device to the Aquaboom?

1. Turn on your Bluetooth device.
2. Power on the Aquaboom and it will automatically go into pairing mode to search for Bluetooth devices.
3. Navigate to your Bluetooth device's setup screen.  Find "Aquaboom" and connect.
   
   Note:If your Bluetooth device prompts for a pairing code, enter "0000".

Press and release the Call Receive / Play / Pause button to disconnect a paired Bluetooth device.  To connect to another Bluetooth device, repeat step 3 above.

 

How far away can my Bluetooth device be from the Aquaboom?

You can be up to 30 feet from the bluetooth device with perfect clarity and signal as long as there are no other obstructions in the way.  You may be able to go even farther, depending upon the bluetooth device itself.

 

Can I answer a phone call with the Aquaboom?

Yes!  There is a built-in microphone and controls to answer calls so that you can keep your phone nice and dry!

 When you have an incoming call, Aquaboom’s speaker will play a ringtone.

1. To answer the call, press Aquaboom's Call Receive  To reject an incoming call, press and hold the Call Receive button. 
   
   Note: If you get an incoming call during music playback, the music will pause until you end the call.
2. Speak into the microphone and adjust the call volume using the Volume 
3. To end the call, press the Call End 

 

Can I connect my phone directly to the Aquaboom without Bluetooth?

Yes.  There is an additional Aux input for those times that you need to connect directly to the unit.

 

How do I charge the Aquaboom and how long does it take?

To charge the Aquaboom, use the included micro-USB cable to connect to your computer USB port or to a USB power adapter connected to a wall outlet.  It takes 4 - 8 hours to fully charge the unit.
