I have been doing this for a little over a year now and the batteries are still holding recharges well. Answer:	The red light is just to show contact with the radio inside the desktop charger. Radios do not have to be charged in pairs and may not always be charged at the same time so the charging indicator is actually the battery indicator on the individual radio.

Answer:	The only negative i can say about the batteries is that they dontast long. I personally have rechargeable batteries that i use instead of the battery pack and it works better and always gives me the backup power when i need ot.

The voice activation function can choose 1-3 sensitivity.

Answer:	I don’t know. They do work pretty far out though. I think other people have used them for cruises.

Answer:	The 2.5mm jack supports mic and speaker functions. You can buy a headset with mic/speaker/PTT that works with the RV-7. • Just search Amazon for RV-7, or Rivins, and headset. • I bought 4 of these headsets and they work fine.

Answer:	I believe they have a VOX feature where, when you speak without keying the radio, it transmits. I don't know if a baby's crying or making noises would activate this.
