Answer:	It won't draw any voltage with no cords plugged in. At that point the gauge is the only thing showing and there's no detectable draw at that point. Answer:	Yes, I have recharged quite a few but there is a work-a-round. Place the lithium battery in the charger & allow to recharge overnight. If you remove them when the light turns green, the recharge will be very weak. Alkaline batteries recharge best when recharged before they go dead. If you have very weak batteries, allow them to sit in the charger 4 hours after the green light appears as this will trickle charge but do not leave an alkaline battery in the charger like this longer than 12 hours. I have used this excellent product for many years. My son, brother & nephew all use this same charger.

Answer:	Did not have good luck with the alkacharger I purchased, had to return it. The second one did not perform as expected.

Answer:	Yes it does have a device that you touch to the negative side of the batteries while they are in the charger, depending on the state of the charge it shows a color yellow, red, green when you tough each battery. I have found the charger to be useless, as I went thru two that didn't work and the third one does, but just marginally. I thought it would be great to be able to charge that many batteries, but it leaves a lot to be desired. I would definitely not buy another one. Took an awful lot of emails to get replacement for the two that didn't work.

However, as I rotate batteries in the many devices we all use there is a significant savings versus constantly buying new batteries. My only real disappointment has been that the charger itself only lasts for a couple of years then a new one must be purchased:( One wish I have is that somehow they could incorporate an area for recharging button batteries, as they are SO expensive! Answer:	How does it work? ....The problem is that it does not work. You are supposed to fill it with batteries of all sizes, wait a few days and all of them will be fully recharged. Mine lasted about two weeks and died. I threw it in the garbage. I understand that alkaline batteries are just not made to be recharged.
