You can also use our Heat Wave Pro Jute material to insulate from heat and sound instead of the Mega Block on the outer firewall. The only difference in the two is that Damplifier has 1mm thick butyl and the Damplifier Pro has 2mm thick butyl rubber. The Damplifier Pro does perform better but if your build doesn't have a huge stereo system or very large engine upgrade then the Damplifier is just fine. If you are pushing 155+ db or stomping on a 450 HP engine then I would recommend you use Damplifier Pro to kill the structure borne noise. |

This means that the total power of all devices connected to the outlets on the circuit attached to your 15A breaker is 1800W of power [15A * 120VAC = 1800 Watts]. This means that if the total power of all devices on the connected outlets reaches 1800W, the breaker will blow (And you will have to go to your breaker box and flip it）. These power strips are rated for 13A [13A * 120V AC = 1560 Watts] which is pretty close to the maximum power you can draw on the whole circuit. So, in short, you would have to daisy chain quite a lot of devices, to hit the 1560W max on the power strips. Think about how much you can power on all the outlets in one room. (i.e. computers, fans, stereos) without that 15A (1800W) circuit breaker blowing. If you want to daisy chain at will without worry of damaging the power strip, find one rated for 15A. Then your circuit breaker would below before you would cause any damage to the power strip. NOTE: The USB ports will NOT draw 2.5A each on your circuit breaker (Even though they supply 2.5A)... This has to do with the voltage. This is why it is better to think in terms of Watts and not amps. Without getting too technical, the calculation for power is [Voltage (V) * Current (A) = Power (W)]. So your 120V AC @ 15A can support up to 1800 Watts total from all devices plugged into the outlets on the circuit. The USB ports are 2.5A * 5V = 12.5W each. 12.5W each port * 3 USB ports = 37.5W (WELL under the 1800Watt max of your circuit). This is because the USB outlets run at 5V and not the 120V coming into your house. NOTE: This is all in an "IDEAL" world. There is a lot of power loss due to heat. So in an ideal world the number I have provided would work perfectly, but due to real world situations, the devices may pull more or less power, and differ slightly from the calculations above. i.e. your breaker might actually handle something like 14.8-15.2 amps depending on how precise it is, as they are NOT perfect. Same thing with your attached devices to the circuit, they may pull a little more or less power than they are rated for in the real world. This is why there is usually a percentage of protection built into power ratings of devices. Usually about 20%. But these "Ideal" calculations will give you a pretty good idea of what you are pulling. About the input--125V/10A located on the product and specification, it is the standard design for the US. In addition, according to the new changes in FCC(Federal Communications Commission) certification requirements, we are not allowed to print "90V - 264V" on the product itself. That's why it's different from the previous power strips. However, the function works the same.” So... yes it can be used overseas as long as you have the appropriate plug adapter for the plug end of the PowerPort cube. Just remember if you use it this way, don’t forget that if you plug anything into the cube in this fashion, the device you plug in would need to be capable of 240 V also. This is not a converter. It is an extension cord; aka "power strip" which offers zero surge protection. it does however have overload protection of 1250 watts if someone were to plug a few power hungry devices into the extension cord which go over the 1250 watt rating on this extension cord, then the protection circuitry would trip to prevent an overload and you would then need to flip the switch on the extension cord and of course, limit the number of things you plug into it. Thus, this extension cord is just that - an extension cord with circuit protection to the device itself should someone plug in too many devices into it that exceed the safety rating of a maximum of 1250 watts. it has absolutely nothing to do with surge suppression. Reading through many comments here it is so surprising how many people think this extension cord is a surge suppressor with a joule rating which IT IS NOT. It is a nice quality extension cord though as I just bought one two days ago and am going to order two more. The specifics of this extension cord are clearly listed in the product description if people would only read. Hope this might help others as well as David A Coughlin. I agree with him on only one thing - that the product is good; albiet, an extension cord and not a surge suppressor. |
