Answer:	The NTSC/PAL option is what changes it. Their manual is terrible. I sent one unit back, that was only monochrome (it also did not space correctly on the license plate). Through trial and error, I had asked their support and got what I already knew: YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE CAR RUNNING AND IN REVERSE (or some other 12 volt signal to the camera) FOR THE BUTTON MENU TO EVEN OPERATE. The replacement fit my license, but was also black and white.3 quick clicks and it should go to color from black and white. This worked for me on the replacement unit.
