Answer:	I remember way back when I was in my first band. I had an ampeg B-15 and it was woefully underpowered. All I got out of it was a ton of distortion. It can be very frustrating for a new player to have to deal with poor sound. I’ve known guys who have given up playing because of the frustration of dealing with noise instead of music. I would use a 25w amp for practicing by myself but for a garage band I would go with a minimum of 100w.

Answer:	I turned mine upside down and it still worked so I suppose it will be OK down there. (On mine, input power is marked 100-120V @ 50-60 HZ, 70W.)

Answer:	I don't see why not. As long as the input is via a 1/4 inch mono plug. It is an amazing little practice amp but don't expect it to reproduce the sounds like a more powerfulamp and 12 inch speaker.

Answer:	If you are expecting any kind of real bass feel, this amp won't give it to you. I would rather spend the money on a bass-buddy, it's like a little personal guitar amp. It clips to your belt and you plug your guitar in and then slip on the headphones. For the bass, it gives you several bass setups like 'slap' or 'fretless' . If you don't want to use headphones, run the headphone jack from the bass buddy into a stereo input and you'll find a better sound.

Answer:	The headphone jack is connected through a voltage divider to the output of the power amp and its impedance is about 450 ohms. This guarantees that HD650 will have a bump in the vicinity of 100 Hz, the headphones’ resonance frequency, which will be hard to correct with the amplifier’s bass control. For headphones, I have a separate DAC/Amp pair (Topping D30 and JDS Atom).
Question:	Does the Yamaha A-S501 have a pre-amp out? If not, can one of its two recorder-outputs be used in lieu of a pre-amp out
Answer:	Any output from that amp except for the speaker outputs are pre-amp by nature, so you can do pre-amp processing as you normally would—source -> effect... effect2...-> amp. Once it reaches the amp you have no more control over the gain. Even the most basic mixing board could do what you are trying to do if you don’t mind that route.
Question:	anyway to hook up an EQ to this amp
Answer:	YES you can hook up a EQ to this amp. If you have a cd player take the analog out from the player to the input of the EQ.Then take the analog out from the EQ to a analog input on the amp. In front of this amp and on the remote there is a PURE DIRECT button, push this and you will see a yellow light come on. This will turn off the bass and treble controls on the amp, then you can adjust the EQ to what bass and mid and treble for you listening room.
Question:	Why usually a stereo amplifier costs more than a stereo receiver with much more options and similar spec
Answer:	Right now, Amazon has the RS500 for about $200 less than the AS501. Given the similar model designations, you might think the "RS" designator is the receiver version of this integrated. However, dig into the specs, and you'll see it's not the case. This unit has higher RMS power (85 W vs 75W), lower distortion (0.019 vs 0.04), and specs like peak power, SNR, and freq response are not provided for the receiver (presumably because they're not worth noting). You also need to look at how power is calculated. Manufacturers are notorious for cheating AV receiver specs by reporting power over very narrow bandwidths (sometimes just a single freq!) whereas the power for this integrated unit is over the entire usable bandwidth. So, in short, the specs are not identical.

Question:	How well does the android app work with this amp? i looked at reviews (april 2020) on the play store and was not encouraged
Answer:	Samsung S10e running Android 10. Do not have any issues with the app. I only use the Bluetooth and optical sources and occasionally tweak the equalization. Has worked flawlessly for these functions. The volume control is very granular which I love. I have not streamed through any of the embedded apps however. Third party streaming apps and Bluetooth meet this need well enough for me. It is a solid class D amp. I drive two Elac UB5 speakers and a powered sub. The sound quality is superb and I like the basic internal EQ in the app for those times when I feel like adjusting the tone a bit.
Question:	Can this play audio out of the RCA outs and the MusicCast without blasting the backyard with the speak wire outs? Also will all 3 work if needed

Question:	What is the Bluetooth range
Answer:	There are 3 classes of BT devices. The ranges are under 10m (Class3); 10m (Class2) and 100m (Class3). The range you get between two devices will be the range of the least powerful device. If that's a cell phone streaming music, expect less than ten meters. If it is a computer with a Class2 BT radio, expect a solid ten meters. But the only way you will get more than ten meters (30 feet) reliably, is if both devices are Class 3. And portable devices rarely are.
Question:	can i hook up my turmtable as well
Answer:	I have a question more than answer. My turntable is the rather cheap, ION LP mp3 converter, it has a built in preamp, has a pair of red white RCA output. BUT, WHEN I PLUG IT INTO THE #3 RCA PORT, AS INDICATED ON THE PRODUCT PAGE FOR TURNTABLE, the speakers have no sound. Now, my "speaker" is a Yamaha HS5 monitor, it's hooked to the OUT RCA port via a 1/4" jack at the back of the monitor. I suppose I'll have to use proper hi-fi speakers connected via the loose wire ports?
Question:	So can this fit a total of 4 100watt speakers at once OR 4 25watt speakers at most
Answer:	100 "X" multiplied by 4 = 400 watts max, and multiple speakers can be connected to single channels if you have a full understanding of OHM's and how the wattage changes with different connections, but a single speaker on each channel that matches up closely at least in OHM's and watts will sound best, but multiple 25watt speakers would be fine on a 100watt channel, and with 4-100watt channels that can be repeated if desired, but if that's done with high power low ohm speakers, they will over draw power and burn up the reciever/amplifier and all this information is found via browser search, or just go basic and match printed numbers and sound great and dont worry about it burning up because of something you did.

Answer:	I bought speaker cables, XLR interconnects, and a power cable from Maze Audio direct. I was very happy with the quality of cable from them, and they look like they'll last a lifetime. However, there are groups like Blue Jeans and any number of small cable builders on eBay.

Answer:	I believe it is 80/120 per channel and it has amazing sound
Question:	Can I hook up 2 sets of Bose 901's at the same time
Answer:	Hi Patricia,I suggest looking at the audio equipment offered by Outlaw Audio, www.outlawaudio.com Give them a call or email them about your Bose 901 speakers and they should be able to provide you with the necessary equipment (audio amps) to drive both of your Bose 901 speaker pairs ( 4 speakers total I believe). I also recommend identifying precisely what the speaker impedance (resistance) is your speakers. It may vary as to when your speakers were manufactured. That specification should appear in the speaker manual of which there probably is a pdf file available on-line - do a Goggle search. Some Outlaw Audio equipment is available from Amazon. Marantz also makes some nice equipment too but it may be more expensive and not necessarily any better sounding than the products from Outlaw Audio.

Answer:	This will drive most speakers as they are rated up to 2 ohms.
Question:	is there a remote control? buying primarily for cd's and record albums. but, will it play stuff from phone (pandora) with that $50 yamaha add on
Answer:	Writing this answer for the A-S2100 (Amazon likes to lump answers together sometimes). This unit is not meant to support that add-on which integrates with the Yamaha AV receivers. The remote does support controlling a CD player, but that is primarily for the high end Yamaha CD players such as the CD-S2100. Yamaha A/V products are NOT controlled by this remote - I have a Yamaha BD-A1060 Blu-Ray/SACD player which pairs very nicely with this amp via the balanced XLR connections - and even that is not controllable with this remote.

Answer:	It has plenty of power - interestingly, it’s actually rated at less power than my as-801, which is a great amp at a great price. I’ll say this, I run 2 sets of bookshelf speakers that are not efficient- at the same time- because I can. It has no problem pushing them. I also run a pair of 23 year old ultra-efficient klipsch towers via a switcher and it’s loud and clear enough to knock the neighbor’s house down
