Under normal operation, the watch seems to check my heart rate every 5 minutes or less.

Question:	is it waterproof
Answer:	It's unlikely you will ever need to replace the battery under normal use. Typical battery will last at least 500 cycles and wt 25 days per cycle it should last three decades. The battery will likely degrade before that, but again will you will want this watch in 10 years? If you plan to pass it to your grandchildren the Swiss will help you get an alternative (Patek Philippe father son anyone?)
