Answer:	There is no onboard integrated storage. This is 40 Tera not Gigabytes unit. It has four bays for 3.5” SAS drives. You can use 2.5” SAS with an adapter.

Answer:	1. The model listed in the question is a disk-less 4 bay model. This means as shipped the capacity is ZERO, no drives at all. 2. The model listed in the question specifically has a maximum capacity of 48TB implemented by ADDING 4 each 12TB drives. When configured, the user can make this into an highly reliable array of 12TB total capacity, a redundant arrays totalling 24TB (two redundant 12TB), or an array of all 4 drives adding to 48TB. 3. A single 40TB capacity drive is only now becoming available in the industry. The specs for the model listed in the question suggests the maximum size of any one drive in the box must not individually exceed 12TB (currently). This may be either or both a firmware (Operating System) or interface hardware limitation.

The normal bit error rate on consumer grade drives makes an unrecoverable error on a Raid 5 rebuild likely. In my experience, RAID 10 is the better compromise - the processing load on the RAID controller is almost non-existent, writes are much faster. Of course the downside is that the RAID 10 only gives you 50% of the total installed capacity ( 4 x 2TB Hard Drives yields a 4TB RAID 10 Drive), while RAID 5 gives you 67% of the total installed capacity ( 4 x 2TB Hard Drives yields a 6TB RAID 5 Drive). There is another advantage to RAID 10 though - In both a RAID 10 and a RAID 5, a single drive failure should not produce any downtime; but if a second drive were to fail before the first is replaced the RAID 5 Drive is done, the RAID 10 has a 67% chance of still being fine (if setup as a RAID 0 stripe set of two RAID 1 mirror sets).

Answer:	Its a MIFI device with no ethernet out put. EERO needs an ethernet input to work. So in Short, no it's not compatable.

Answer:	Yes, however it is important to note that in every network, you must use an eero with an Ethernet port on the back so you can connect it to your modem. eeros that can be used as a gateway are the eero, eero Pro, eero 6 and eero 6 Pro. Once your gateway eero is installed you may use any combination of eeros to setup your network. All eeros are compatible with each other no matter when they were released.

Answer:	1) As to actual watage, I don't have an answer. It does appear to be nominal. Power will be less w/o a HDD though.2) The fan is variable, based on factory settings. The hotter the environment, the higher the speed. There have been reports of a "noisy" fan, though in my environment it is not an issue. If it is in a general living area or bedroom, only the buyer can know how much impact it'll have.3) A router's nature is to provide service 24x7, therefore no inactivity shutdown is designed into the product. The power consumption (for my environment) is one very small part of my overall power-footprint of my home, therefore it has not been an issue.Note: Sound from the device is not dependent on the HDD specifically. Since the HDD may be derrived from multiple sources, how noisy the HDD is, is entirely dependent on the HDD. There does not appear to be any sound dampening insultation. The fan though; when running a quiet HDD is audible. It depends entirely on the setting where it is installed.I hope this helps.

Answer:	I have a model WNDR4700 and it is based on the same system as your N900. To the best of my knowledge and experience none of the Netgear Centria models allow a sleep mode for the internal hard drive or an external USB drive. The drive must stay active at all time for access by any one with a network conection. They could have put a sleep mode in the firmware but appear to not do it for 24/7 full access. Bugs me too but you can turn off the network to save the electricity.

Answer:	This is a good router that I am pleased with. However it does make a fair amount of noise, and I would not put it in my bedroom.

Answer:	You would need a Powered Antenna adapter. Basically the powered antenna hooks to the RP-SMA slot, then has the powered hub, and then you put a % dbi antenna on it and it'll get 2x more antenna strength. Even 2x more then what you'll use for a higher DBI antenna. So if you use a 24dbi antenna, it'd more be like a 48dbi antenna. So if you use double 10dbi antennas with the power adapter. that'll be more then enough to have signal strength to get all the house at max, even if

Answer:	This is a wireless access point not a router, that means that it only provides a wireless signal for computers, tablets phones etc. It must have a wired connection to it from the internet. It does not have a firewall so if you have a internet connection only at this time you should get a model with a router/firewall not this model.
Question:	How would it deal with heat? Would like to put it in an outdoor outlet that has a waterproof outlet cover. Gets lots of morning sun
Answer:	It's going to be connected to the same network and can have the same SSID. I use mine as an access point at the other end of the my house and gave it a slightly different name so I would know which device (my router also has wireless connectivity). I could always look at signal strength and tell the difference, but I like the slightly different name.

Answer:	Also note that the ethernet port is only 100Mbit. So if your existing WiFi is usually capable of more than 100Mbit, for example your WiFi internet is 150Mbit or more, you will only get around 100Mbit or a little less to your ethernet device. You'd have to pay a little more money for a different device with a GigaBit ethernet port if you want to get anything more than 100Mbit out of this ethernet port.

Question:	Can systems like these be linked in a line? I mean instead of the satellite units having to be within range of the router, can I daiseychain them out
Answer:	Regardless if Orbi can be daisy chained with wired cable ... if you can daisy chain routers, why not just set up an AP system. If you can hard wired the AP, there is no need for Orbi and you get much better performance. As to daisy chaining Orbi, yes, you can do that.. but that defeats the purpose of using Orbi. The main technological advantage with Orbi is its ability to have a 3rd backhaul channel through wireless connection. If you can using hard wired... just go with the proven WLAN AP (http://pigtail.azurewebsites.net/tp-link/large-building.PNG)... my organization use it to deploy over 200 wireless devices on the same lan without much overhead degradation.
Question:	Is it 100 - 240 Volts
Answer:	It all depends upon where you buy it. In the USA it is supplied with 115V power supplies one for the router and one each for the Satellites, this is OK of you live in the USA or somewhere where they have 115v power in the homes. If you live in the UK buy them in the UK they come with 240v power supplies, so they are OK for the UK, but come with the UK 3 pin sockets. In Europe theu come with two pin European adaptors suitable for Europes 220 v power. The problem is if you buy it in one country and want to run it in another. Netgear do not sell the power supplies separately. I bought mine in the Black Friday sales in the USA and brought them to the UK. I had to buy power supplies from Germany that were suitable for 240 volts and adaptors for continental to UK sockets. Be careful, you ned to know exactly what the pin size is the pin lengt and the pin inside and pouside diameters. To save you hassle you need Plug-in power supply unit, 12 V, 1000 mA, with -ve polarity on the outside The pin that plugs into the ORBI should be 5.5mm outside diameter and the socket 2.5mm inside diam. The length of the pin is 12mm.

Answer:	As of April/late May 2018, the latest firmware 2.1.4.10 has not only broken ethernet backhaul, but it also takes down your entire network such that no device can connect to the Internet if you leave the ethernet cable connected to satellite. There is no way to disable auto update of the firmware. I have had an open support case for nearly one month and have spent many, many hours in that time trying to troubleshoot. Never had this kind of issue with my Airport Extremes, which is no longer made, so I thought Orbi would be a good replacement given all the positive professional reviews. Answer:	Mu understanding is yes.
Question:	Anyone experiencing constant drops on apple devices? i can’t seem to get a good wi-fi connection on 5ghz for ios devices i tried all 3 channels on 5gh
Answer:	Check your firmware, including satellites. There was an update (V1.0.4.96_2.0.41) to resolve 2.4 device drops. The MR .chk file is different from the satellite (MS) updates. I didn't see anything for 5ghz issues.
Question:	This model of nighthawk isn't on spectrum's list of approved routers yet. has anyone gotten it to connect with their spectrum internet anyway
Answer:	What you are probably looking at us a modem/router list, not a router list. This does not have a modem, so make sure you have a modem before buying this. If what you have now is s modem/router, do not connect this to that. It takes technical knowledge to make this work using another router. You need to buy a modem, activate that modem with spectrum and then connect this to the modem.
Question:	Can this be wall-mounted or ceiling mounted
Answer:	There is a wall mount that can be purchased separately for this device. I mounted one satellite and placed the other on a flat surface. I’m not fond of the wall mount for it but it works.

Answer:	A repeater (extender) is installed by syncing to the main router. I have 2 which work very well - one in my kitchen and one in the master bedroom ( huge house). So I actually bought the Orbi with 2 satellites The satellites plug into the outlet and the syncing is quite simple. Hope this helps.
