I still have the instruction for either of them so the instruction says "Connect one of the Ethernet cable to one of devices then connect to the switch. It states that you can use any one port to connect so there is no special port for connecting the router.Mine connects to #1 port that connects to the router. After connecting to the router, check to see any flashing light on the cable. If the light is still flashing, it should be Okay.

Answer:	Definitely have had really bad connectivity with this to the point where I can't use it any more due to reliability. Dropping WiFi calling, stopped media streaming, and just general disconnections means it is completely useless for the intended purpose. Answer:	I'm assuming you probably have a modem/router all in one unit from Time Warner. What you can do is go into the settings on that modem, and turn off its wifi. Then use this router as your wifi. Be sure to plug this router's internet port into one of the cable modem's Ethernet ports. The modem should assign your router an IP address. Then your good to go :)

Answer:	As stated by Land_Master and miker, usually a wireless router can be configured to function as a wireless access point (AP) by: 1.) Configuring the wireless router with an appropriate LAN IP address (for further configuration purposes), 2.) Ensure that the field computer, which you will be using for the configuration, is on the same LAN (IP subnet) and ideally connected to the wireless router via an Ethernet cable. This is necessary before the next step causes a communication outage. 3.) Disabling DHCP on the wireless router, so as to not cause a conflict or communication outage. AP Mode means that the network configuration source is the upstream router, either via DHCP or statically. 4.) Configuring the wireless network as may be necessary on the wireless router. It will be used in AP mode when the physical connection is made as described below. 5.) Plugging in the uplink cable to the upstream router to a LAN port (only) on the wireless router. Only one Ethernet cable should run between the upstream router and the wireless router configured in AP mode. Other LAN ports may be used to connect other wired client devices. Maybe you should tape over the WAN port to block it, in order to help remind you not to use it within this deployment. 5.) Allow a wireless station to connect to the wireless network running on this AP mode device. Answer:	Temps are 30-105 degrees F. Speeds, heh, all ports are capable of 1GB+ which is really fast, it's a fat pipe few will ever fill. That assumes Cat-6 cables throughout the network, however. Also, in high-electronic noise situations, you're likely to need shielded Cat-6 cables. When I bought mine (2 DGS-108s), I bought the shielded Cat6 Ethernet cables pre-made from Amazon and got rid of all my old Cat5E cords, most of whom were twenty years old anyway. I don't use wireless, I won't have it, but with three TVs, three DVDs, two work stations and a couple of laser printers and a laptop, I needed lots of ports, I figured I'd take the two-hundred-dollar hit, replace it all and be done with it, even though the TVs, DVD players and printers will never use the speed. I do have a couple of Ethernet drives that transfer at speeds a little faster than 500MB/S with the new cables and hubs, so in that regard, I got some benefit from the faster hubs. When you're talking 1GB speeds, the limiting factor is the hardware attached to the 1GB hubs rather than the Cat6 cabling and GB hubs. Good Luck.

Answer:	It does NOT assign IP addresses. But it's not totally dumb either. You don't have to use a crossover cable to connect this switch to another switch. It will auto-sense when it needs to do crossover.

Answer:	My home is 2000 sq ft, the router is approx in the center of the home and it works well throughout the house. Coverage depends on location (most important), number of walls between the router and where being used and the type of construction (brick, wood, sheet rock etc.). The more walls the weaker the signal.

Question:	Is the power supply auto switchable to 220v
Answer:	I have no direct answer. It gives me solid coverage in a 2000sqft residence with very little wire-lath or other shielding.

Answer:	NO it can not be setup in access point mode. I purchased based on this thread so I want to update. I updated to the latest firmware for my model (DIR-822-US). There is no option for access point mode in either the web GUI or the mobile app. The best u can do is plug into ur network and turn off as much of the routing features as possible (ie- upnp, dhcp, firewall,etc..) You can confirm what I am saying by going to the dlink webpage and looking at the quick setup guide or the router’s manual. NO mention of access point mode.

Answer:	Yes there are two keyhole slots that fit standard sheetrock screws or smaller and allow you hang it in any direction/position
Question:	is wired backhaul an option or are the extenders limited in their location to the WiFi range of the base unit
Answer:	Yes, there are slotted holes in the bottom of the case. You will have to create your own template to guide the screw placement, however, since none is provided.
