My only complaint is that the documentation was insufficient in how to install the drivers, the key solution as follows:1. Install card (the easy part!)2. Download Windows 10 driver from TP-link site (under Support, Archer T9E, Windows 10 driver) -- this is a zipped file and unpacks to a SETUP application file. You run it and it says the driver is installed --- but really nothing happens, DM says there is no driver... Why? Because you MUST DISABLE the existing Network Interface Device first! Once you do this (then reboot) the Setup runs perfectly and all is well. Root Cause: What happens on Windows 10 system is that the new NIC is created as a Network Controller device, not under NETWORK ADAPTER as is should be (note, it didn't do this on my Windows 7 system). Once the existing adapter was disabled, Windows 10 created the new NIC card under Network Adapter and the Setup utility from TP-Link Driver download ran correctly... it took me over an hour to realize this issue, documentation was bare-bones 1-page sheet and didn't say anything about this. Answer:	I had the same problem. They provided a link to download the drivers, which I did. I installed them on my MacBook Pro and attempted to restart as prompted. My trusty Mac refused to restart even in "safe mode". Tried rebooting in recovery mode and again, would not boot up. I ended up reinstalling my entire drive from a back up drive. Total time wasted=5 hours and I sent this back for a refund. Don't bother wasting your money if you have a Mac, it will only cause you grief.

Answer:	Hey guys, I'm able to have it working on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. I did follow the dkms solution posted by the other user; the script ran into an error, that's when I noticed the shell script requires a manual edit to edit out the version number for the driver's directory, once that's done the shell script ran just fine. Also, I had this adapter plugged into a USB 2.0 port, and the wifi would not accept the password; once I plug it into a USB 3.0 port (duh, lol) the wifi accepted the password and working just fine.

Answer:	The short answer is that 2.4 GHz will generally register as having better signal strength compared to 5GHz. Windows tends to prefer this, and most consumer routers won't signal the endpoint to switch to 5GHz. You can fix this by going to the advanced adapter properties, and seeing if you can set it to "Prefer 5GHz". Alternatively, the WiFi Mode setting can be set to a set that excludes 2.4GHz like 802.11 a/c/n/ac.

Answer:	It depends on your needs. Needs are based on the number of devices connected and the size of area you are trying to cover. I would highly recommend a mesh network unless your home is 1200sqft or smaller. A centrally located router could cover that. The biggest problem is getting the 5ghz frequency to reach throughout the home. The 5ghz gives you speeds over 30mbps on wireless devices. 5ghz will reach roughly 40ft in all directions from your access point (ap). A mesh system gives you multiple ap and thus more area covered by the 5ghz.
Question:	Does it work on ps
Answer:	The 8x doesn't refer to the number of devices you can connect to it. You only want to connect one device and that's your WiFi router. You wireless router determines how many devices can be connect based on the available number of ip addresses on the wireless device. The 8x refers to the speed of Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS). Its informing you on the speed of DOCSIS 2.0 vs the newer DOCSIS 3.0. Ultimately your speed will be determined by how much you want to pay your internet provider. And you can determine how many devices you want to connect by the router you choose.
Question:	What is the difference between this model and WU1300S
Answer:	If you only need to have one computer hooked up to the internet you do not need a router. If you want to hook up more than one computer or if you want a wireless network, you will need to buy the appropriate router. My internet speed went from 20mb to 100mb(the speed I pay extra for). TWC has also stopped charging me $8.00 a month for the use of their inadequate equipment.

Answer:	I really don't know as of yet if this device does that or not. I run Linux (Debian 8.6, Linux Mint 18, 17.3, forget Ubuntu-I found too much spyware in that coupled with a wincrap laptop here somewhere) myself and just had not the time to mess with it on these features. It does work well on Linux under Ndiswrapper though I know I can do better with my own driver soon. Just had surgery on my eyes so give me a few weeks as they heal but you can contact me at Kstein_8551 at Yahoo.com. That is the public email address I use mostly. Another winmodem that does well with what you want is Netgear 6210 (1900-3.0usb) but you will have to download the chip source and make the driver for it. Not the netgear one. I just searched Duckduckgo for the chipset ID from lsusb command to get the chipset code. Leave a message if need some help, or wait a few weeks and I should have a nice Linux driver soon.K SteinmanP.S If your going to try under Ndiswrapper make sure you disable bcm43xx, bcm43, and ssd in etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf as they will interfere with that modem pretty bad.Like I said I haven't really put this thing through it's paces yet but is very fast and reliable and I pick up neighbors wifi over a mile away. Answer:	There is an option to put it into Bridge Mode (basically acting as a wired AP), but it involves getting into the webpage based GUI, which is kept hidden. You would need to setup as normal with the app, connecting to your existing router, setup as a parent node (router) and any child nodes (access points), will temporarily create a double NAT, but will be resolved by changing to bridge mode later.

Answer:	I recently purchased this item from Office Depot. I was considering the Velop and the Netgear Orbi. Two factors that finalized my decision. I got a super price on this system and this system had 3 modules (which I thought would be better in my house. My internet enters through the bonus room above garage which is at one end. The bonus room is not connected with the remaining second story. I had to place one unit there with the modem. The second one is downstairs from that one (where my extender had been). The third was placed at bottom of stairs feeding the remaining 2nd level. I possibly could spread them further, but wanted to be sure at setup. I pay to have 100 mb service at modem and actually exceed this by 10-15 wirelessly throughout house. I no longer have dead spots (as I did even with my Netgear 1900 extender) and no longer lose connection with printers. Although, the Netgear Orbi may do the same, I am very pleased with my purchase. Only complaint that I had initially was that each module has only 2 Ethernet connections. When connecting the first unit with the modem, you only have one remaining. However, with the speed that I am getting wirelessly, it doesn't appear to be an issue. However, I would be more comfortable if at least one unit had 3or 4 Ethernet connections.
