Answer:	Yes, the bottom of the bag has a hard platform with legs.

Answer:	From what I notice, the xms1553 is limited to only one size (20") and two colors (grey and pink). The 2.0 bag has several different colors to choose from and comes in either small (15") or medium (20") size. The most noticeable difference between the two bags is that the xms1553 does not have a "water-resistant bottom panel", nor does it have pegs/feet on the bottom of the bag to protect the bottom of the bag from scratches and being torn. The 2.0 has those features, which are great reinforcements. Other than that, the bags are very similar.

Answer:	A size 13US men's foot is just under 12 inches. There's enough room for the length of the shoe in the shoe compartment and the width of the shoe shouldn't be an issue either.

Answer:	It does repel water -- but it certainly isn't waterproof. A quick jog from office to car in a downpour and it does fine; but any extended period would surely soak through the material. That said, most of the compartments are well insulated from the outer fabric.

Answer:	Not much. Two of the three of the 1900's dimensions are about 1 inch larger than the 5977 I bought for my wife. She had it packed to the max and yet had no issue taking it as 'carry-on' on her flight (SW 737), just a regular size aircraft.
