User questions & answers
Question: | Is this compatible with asus tuf gaming fx506li |
Answer: | Yes, it is compatible with asus tuf gaming fx506li. |
Question: | Is this single sided? Meaning chips are on the top side and nothing on the bottom |
Answer: | Yes, even the 2TB model is just one sided. Meaning the NAND flash chips and the controller are on the 'top' side of the SSD PCB. |
Question: | Can it incorporate into asrock b460m-hdv supports 10th gen intel core processors (socket 1200) motherboard |
Answer: | Specs say the asrock b460m-hdv motherboard supports: 4 SATA3, 1 Ultra M.2 (PCIe Gen3 x4 & SATA3). So, the answer is yes. I got the 2TB version and had a complete hardware failure in the first 60 days of use. I have to give MicroCenter a prop here as they replaced the failed unit under warranty free of charge. Still, bit of a PITA as I had to physically drive to a MicroCenter to return it - and I have two "relatively" near. But - not all that near. There are only 18 in the entire country, so - bear that in mind. Replacement works flawlessly - so far. Since you only have one M.2 slot, don't try to save money here. The Inland is a good app/games drive. Not the best boot drive. Performance is measurably behind the competition on both reads and writes. That's in their own specs. They don't claim to be the fastest. With only one M.2 slot, I'd recommend that you double your budget and get the Samsung. |
Question: | Is anybody experiencing overheating? At least a dozen times it has shut down. When I opened case and felt it, the drive was incredibly hot |
Answer: | Dear customers, Our M.2 temp is from 0 ~ 70 on operating and storage is from -40 ~ 85. When it is overheating, it will be shut down. Could you kindly tell us your order number for more detail? We hope we can help you. And please do not worry, we will always be here for you. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this replace an original ssd m.2 sandisk x600 128gb drive |
Answer: | The X600 is a SATA drive. This is an NVME drive. They are not the same, but your motherboard may support both. Look at your manufacturer specifications and see if it will support an "M" key m.2 drive with a 2280 form factor. |
Question: | Pcpartpicker lists this with no dram. is there any dram on this model |
Answer: | Yes, this dram has DRAM. It is using SK Hynix DDR4 according to Tom's Hardware. |
Question: | If used in external usb gen 2 enclosure (10gbps) why is it bottlenecked? shouldn’t speed still be>3000mbps (not |
Answer: | 1000-1050MB/s is real world max for that standard. The rapid temperature rise typical of cheap NVME enclosures aren’t going to help those numbers for long either. |
Question: | Is heatsink comes with on the motherboard, enough for cooling nvme ssd(non heatsink version wd sn750) or should be buy heatsink version of wd sn |
Answer: | From what I understand, nvme drives actually prefer to run a little warmer. So for the most part the heatsink isn't necessary. Running mine in an air cooled desktop without a heatsink and its doing very well. |

Question: | Is this compatible with an intel nuc nuc8i7hvk |
Answer: | Looks like all specs check up I don’t see why not |
Question: | Just bought this for asus maximus viii hero and the box says pcie. will this still work |
Answer: | According to the specs on their site. It has a gen 3 m.2 slot for that nvme drive. As long as the slot is vacant. It will plug in and work |
Question: | Is this tlc or qlc |
Answer: | It is QLC but partially SLC, which gives it the speed. I think 140GB of the 2TB version is SLC. When you fill the drive up past 50% or 75%, performance takes a hit as more of the SLC is occupied all of the time, according to the algorithms used to populate the memory. |
Question: | Does this need a proprietary ssd enclosure for me to clone my local drive? or i can use any ssd enclosure |
Answer: | As long as your machine and cloning software recognizes it, you shouldn't need a special enclosure. They usually have a broad firmware support |

User questions & answers
Question: | Se demora de 1 a 2 meses en llegar a Colombia |
Answer: | A mi me llego en 5 días, fue rápido!! |
Question: | hi, i'm new to this, does it work for an asus rog strix b450 f gaming |
Answer: | for anyone else reading this, YES this will work for the Rog Strix B450-F gaming motherboard. The other user that answered saying you'd need an adapter is wrong. The Rog Strix B450-F Gaming mobo has two M.2 slots. I know, I have the same setup. |
Question: | How do you clone this drive |
Answer: | The recommendation of Ghost as a cloning program is terrible. The consumer version of Norton Ghost was discontinued sometime back in 2013-2014. It was designed specifically for Windows 7 and is thus obsolete for today's hardware and software requirements. It's replacement, Symantec Ghost, was designed primarily for enterprise use. so unless you're working in an IT department environment, it's probably the worst choice for the home consumer who simply wants to upgrade their personal PC or laptop to a faster M.2 NVMW drive. There are plenty of free cloning software applications out there: AOMEI, Macrium, Clonezilla, and others. Go on the web, look up "free cloning software", read the reviews. I personally would go to the WD support website and take a look at their user forum. There are plenty of users there who have had hands on experience cloning to their WD M.2 NVMW devices; they provide detail as to what software works and what doesn't work for cloning. |
Question: | Does it come with screw if not what's the size of screw |
Answer: | The WD blue SN550 does NOT come with screws. M3 screws should do the trick on 2.5" SSD Dell systems. You should have to go up a size for a 3.5" drive to a 6-32 (head pattern varies). Start with an M3 then if sloppy, use the thicker 6-32 screw. |

Question: | good for editing/rendering rig |
Answer: | Yes. I didn't realize it until I got this drive, but my Sata drive was the bottleneck with just 10bit h265 4k video. It sped up my renders quite a bit with certain files and edits. |
Question: | Do i need the heatsink ver. For everyday gaming use ? Because x570 mb comes with m.2 heatsink |
Answer: | I've tested both (Video Unboxing/Review coming soon) and there's up to a 26 degree difference between using it with/without it. Under full load in a Gen4 PCIe 4.0 m.2 slot WITHOUT a heatsink, temperatures can hit up to 78c and 49c-ish idle. Given that you're using this for a Gen4 supported slot (wouldn't make much sense to buy it otherwise), I honestly wouldn't recommend buying this without a heatsink. This heatsink seems to work a lot better than others I've tested in the past so I'd honestly recommend getting the bundle. |
Question: | How long will it take this drive to read a 4K text file |
Answer: | My 2XM.2 Rockets R/W @12,800MBps or 12.8 GBps using Ramcache3 from Asus. So that means 4K will be read in .33s :O It runs right at 5,000MBps alone without caching, so that would be just over 1 sec.:) |
