Answer:	The only way to turn it on/off are manual switches on the front of the unit. I have a 55" TV and it does not get the TV hot, the fan seems to blow the air out and down so it does a good job of keeping the heat off the TV. For the price I am very happy with the unit, I am sure there are more expensive units that may have a remote to turn the fireplace on/off but you get what you pay for. The stand itself is solid once assembled but does take a little while to put together.

Answer:	No - correct dimensions are 4.345" x 2.254" x 0.45" (just measured with my calipers) No clue how anyone could come up with 1.68 inches high. It's pretty small and faster than anything I've ever used.

Answer:	No; nothing is forever. Solid state disks have a maximum number of writes, referred to as TBW (terrabytes written) which are typically 65 to 150 TBW. SanDisk estimates about 65-80 TBW depending on device. Putting this in perspective, TBW stands for Terabytes Written. It can also be referred to as “endurance”. It is a metric indicated by hardware manufactures to state how many terabytes could be written to the solid state disk (SSD) during it’s lifetime. The TBW metric is an important one to look out for when buying an SSD as it indicates how long a drive can be operational and useful before needing to replace it with a new one. For example, if your drive has a capacity of 100 GB's, and the drive was rated at 100 TBW, then this means that the drive can be fully rewritten 1024 times! (1 Terabyte = 1024 Gigabytes). Reading is forever, but writing is the limit... Solution: plan to replace the SSD when you approach the capacity metric for TBW... use the "old" drive as a read only archive. I used to do this for databases - put the data which is static on the SSD's for fast access and the dynamic data on the hard drives. The TBW rates are constantly improving and someday may be infinite, but we're definitely not at that point.

Answer:	The specs on this drive are Rapid PCIe Gen3x4 Interface : read/write up to 3500/3000MB/s NVMe 1.3-Support , so if your Motherboard supports PCIe Express 3x4 (PCI 3.0) which is what this drive supports, PCIe 4.0 which is only now being made available on the newest AMD chipset motherboards and specific SSD drives using the new interface will benefit from the new PCIe 4.0 speeds. Long answer short: this drive should be compatible with a PCIe 4.0 supported motherboard, but rated speeds are PCIe 3.0 for this drive.

Answer:	No. Apple began soldering SSDs to the logic board beginning in 2016. Although, it would work in either an external Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C enclosure. Cost will be relevant to the type of enclosure used regarding its throughput capability.

Answer:	I can confirm, have two working in RAID 0 as a boot drive with a fresh install of Windows 10. No issues, followed some YouTube videos for the recommended setting to get RAID working. Since I'm using a motherboard with Intel RST, a driver was needed to identify the drives during Windows install but I was aware of this ahead of the time and had the drivers pre-loaded on my USB install media. Answer:	If you are only using this for a windows PC i would recommend reformatting to ntsf. If you want the drive readable by a PC and mac try ExFat fomat. I use mine on a mac and i fomatted it to mac OS journalled. I would not recommend fat32 format under any circumstances. Answer:	I can't find the transfer speed listed anywhere, even in LaCie spec sheet - https://www.lacie.com/www-content/datasheets/pdfs/lacie-mobile-drive-DS1997-2-1812US-en_US.pdf Based on previous experience with LaCie portable HDD units, I would guess 130-140MB/s range. This is a 2.5" HDD and whether connecting to a USB-C, USB 3.0, or Thunderbolt 3 port, speeds will be the SAME. This is not an actual Thunderbolt 3 port on the drive, it is USB-C which is "compatible" with Thunderbolt 3. And also, for a basic drive like this, the hard drive itself is the limiting speed factor. Connecting to Thunderbolt will not increase performance, basic physics. The drive can only deliver so much data per second, period. If speed is a big concern, then you need to look at an SSD portabl drive with USB-C or Thunderbolt 3, then you will see massive speed improvements. SSD will cost a lot more of course.
